Thank you very much for this new update.

1) Can you have a look on F18_AoA_Indexer.xml lines 24, 34, 44 and 54?

Error: Missing gauge image file: Avionics\BlackBox\AoA_background.bmp
Error: Missing gauge image file: Avionics\BlackBox\AOA_onspeed.bmp
Error: Missing gauge image file: Avionics\BlackBox\AOA_fast.bmp
Error: Missing gauge image file: Avionics\BlackBox\AOA_slow.bmp

2) In the aircraft.cfg file, all lines before the [General] section must begin with //

Regards and good continuation.

Currently out of town at the moment. Will take a look once I get back to home. Thanks for the feedback.

OK Jimi
Have also a look on the panel.cfg line 59
gauge02=Avionics\BlackBox!F18_UFCD, 0, 400, 180, 210
and line 60
gauge03=Avionics\BlackBox!F18_FMC, 0, 0, 0, 0
because these two xml files (F18_UFCD and F18_FMC) are missing in Avionics\BlackBox
error=Gauge file not found: Avionics\BlackBox!F18_UFCD
error=Gauge file not found: Avionics\BlackBox!F18_FMC

And the last :
This effect is called and is missing
error=Failed to load visual effect "kd_FX_seatRocket"

No worries. I'll probably just delete all of those since they are no longer being used.

As to #1: Yes, they're missing, but my AOA gauge works fine. A little off compared to the pitch the plane takes for level flight with the gear and flaps down (PA Mode), but I have the funny feeling that was the fault of my stick on this test pass. I'll check it again tomorrow when I fly. This is in FSX:SE, not P3D, but I thought I'd check on it anyway, if that helps at all.

#2: They seem to be fine in mine. No, each and every line doesn't have the "comments" marks (//) but the aircraft.cfg seems to ignore all the lines with the main headings commented out. IE: like this

// HUD/Avionics/Gauges:
   Jivko Rusev
   Scott Printz
   Dino Cattaneo
   Orion Lyau
   Justin "Jimi" Hendrix
   Corrado La Posta
   D Dawson

All the names entries are ignored. Maybe FSX is less touchy about this sort of thing?

Hope this is some small help...
Pat☺

Hello,
I confirm what micpni writes, In the aircraft.cfg file, all lines before the [General] section must begin with //
otherwise, P3D reports them as an error.

Also, to keep only the errors affecting the FA-18, I delete all these lines in the aircraft.cfg, which is faster than adding // to each line concerned.

2 other questions:

1 / Is it possible to simultaneously display the Tacan AND ILS informations on the HUD.
It seems to be Tacan or ILS depending on whether we click on the HSI Tacan or ILS buttons, but not both.

2 / How to activate the glide / slope in the HSI and modify the HSEL and CSEL parameters?

Regards
Jean

Copy all on deleting the files.

As for tcn and I'll info display, yes there are currently set up to display one or the other. I will need to re-reference the NATOPS to see how they are both displayed.

Needle adjustment is done in the HUD coding, found in Panel.xxx/Avionics/HUD

Thank you jimi08.

Regarding the adjustment of the needle on the HSI, it can be done through "Vehicle / Instrument Panel / Flir"

About these instrument panels, the call of the test, radar and HUD panels displays black windows. (P3D v4.3)

Hi Guys,
I'm a bit disappointed with the new release. It seems to be "one step forward and two steps back"! The absence of detailed instructions - or the carry over of old instructions, does not help. For example; I cannot find a means of entering either the ILS or Tacan for RAAF Base Williamtown (YWLM) - the RAAF's primary Hornet base. The trims have reverted to some months back when right aileron trim rolled the aircraft left, etc. Reading the list of improvements that have been included leads me to think that a disproportionate amount of effort has been put into its weapons capability. Might it not be prudent to get the aircraft and its primary flight systems working before plunging too far into TacPack?
While it is still very nice to fly, there is little incentive to spend simulator time on it when other similar aircraft (e.g. Dino's F-14) can do all the basic sim stuff properly.
Sorry, Roger

Hi lowery
I managed to enter the TACAN and ILS frequencies.
I made a short video explaining the procedure. I send you the video by email.

Then I did the same thing to enter the Nice LFMN ILS and the result in 3 screenshots.

Jean

In addition to my previous post, I placed the F18 at YWLM and did several tests with the TCN 80X and ILS 110.50 frequencies of this base.

To have the correct ILS on both the HSI and the HUD, you must enter the frequency 110.50 in both radios.
But then, the choice of the TCN with the HSI button points to the IWM tacan and not WLM.

If we enter the correct frequencies 80X and 110.50, then the HSI ILS needle no longer indicates the deviations.

Moreover, there is no directional needle for Tacan in the HUD.

Greetings,

Thank you for the new update. I'm using P3dv4.3 and I am having a problem with rudder and elevator flutter. Anyone else having this issue?

Appreciate you getting the course selection arrow to work as well, but the course selection toggle switch on the lower left panel shows "Oil Temperature" instead of "Course" when you move over it with the cursor.

Cheers,
Reggie
