Question: Length of time to make an update? **UPDATED**
« on: July 02, 2017, 07:57:20 am »

Hey all.

Simple but loaded question I'm going to ask, and yes, this is going to single out the recently updated KLAS scenery (especially since we have an uncanny knack for timing!).

How long would, in what would be considered trivial from a customer's perspective, a very minor update to a given scenery take?

I ask, because this is coming down the pipe:

https://www.faa.gov/air_traffic/flight_info/aeronav/procedures/application/?event=procedure.results&tab=coordination&nasrId=LAS#searchResultsTop

The tl;dr of it: Runways 7L/25R and 7R/25L are being upnumbered due to magnetic variation, and this may be going into effect as early as 09/2017.

So back to the question: How long would a scenery change to change two numbers (the 5s to 6s) take? From our perspective it would be relatively minor, but from a developer's standpoint is what I'd like to know.

BL.

With KFLL, the update due to the change of magnetic variation was released 20 days after it was initially reported.

This is good to know. Thanks! Should this be officially announced, then you may see requests for an update come in, as there will be quite a number of confused pilots asking for an update to what they would feel is outdated scenery.

Right now, this is still in the RFC phase, but may be finalized within the next few weeks.

The FSDT Live Update will take care of it.

The update is online now, together with the updated manual with new charts. Just run the FSDT Live Update from the desktop icon to get it.

Are there any plans to update the ground markings as well as taxi signs? Mine still appear as for the 25s or 7s?

Greetings,

Jorge.

Good catch. The runway markings are up to date, but the taxiway signs and ground markings still do show up as the 25s/7s. I can live with that for now, but I suspect that the developers will put out another update.

Of course we are. That's not an update, it's a bugfix that must be made as soon as possible.

Did this ever get fixed? I'm still seeing this even after the latest update.

If you still see it, it can only mean it hasn't been fixed. We'll do it as soon as possible.

Hi I just did the FSDT live up date for my runway numbers and they did change but I lost all my buildings and terminal ? I all so have HNL ORD JFK2 and all are working well and when I start up those airports on the top tap when I hit add-ons it shows "couatl settings" and "couatl live up date" but it does not do this in LAS ?    Up date now I notice for example when I start up at a surrounding airport and fly towards LAS I can see the terminals and all my buildings but when I get in the vicinity or over LAS ! FS stops I reopen it all buildings disappears again including the ability to open up couatl ??? please help !!!     thank you

Be sure you install the latest version of GSX: KLAS won't work without it.
