No Airplanes taking off or landing

When I try to land an aircraft, it says to only land on runway 17 when there isn't one. The "runway" is north of the airport (north of the american airlines terminal where the aircraft land)
anybody know how to fix this?

Are you using the AFCAD that comes with the scenery, or another one ?
