First lets take a breather. FSDT has by far the best KORD airport and customer service. Although we all want these new runways, I'd rather have it done right then to have a half ass job. virtuali  is it possible to modify the current KORD AFCAD until the new runway is done. Where take offs would be only on 22L / 22R,  and landings on 32L/ 32R that should solve most problems of go arounds and back up. Please keep the parking assignments the same. Its worth a try. (The option should be open to select which runway you want as well).

This is a good one as well: http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=6344395

I've been looking at airports in Google Earth a bit these days, many of them have new imagery dates, as recent as June even. Unfortunately, KORD is still old KORD.

Very disappointing. In November the new runway will be in operation for two years already...

So, just looking at Google Earth some more (tweaking the Afcads, again...), default KORD Imagery Date is Oct 11, 2007.

If you click on the Clock symbol you can switch between Imagery Dates. Hit the back button once and you'll get an Imagery Date of Oct 7, 2009! With new runway, runway extension and various taxiway changes (there have been a lot of those, it amazes me, compare the scenery with the latest FAA Airport Diagram). I think this data is not used by default because it appears to be of a slightly lesser quality, but it's better than nothing.

Looking at the new runway, it seems they're getting good use out of it.

Realistically speaking, a KORD update would include the new runway and connecting taxiways. And the 10/28 extension.

There have been numerous changes south of 10/28 and on the 28 end, but I think most of us would already be happy with the above. Perhaps the rest can be indicated with some under construction sand/dirt like the above is visible in the scenery now.

We already said in another thread we have started working on the KORD update:

There are no release dates so please, don't ask, we'll announce it when it's ready.

Good news in both previous posts.

Chicago isn't wasting any time, that's for sure.

Will include updated runways for sure, because that's what we said we would do. Anything extra, is not certain.
