EZdok camera and GSX numpad keys
« on: August 23, 2016, 01:08:37 am »
GSX works with my P3D v3.3.5, except that I can't edit the service vehicle's positions. Since all my number key pad is mapped to EZdok, I can't use the number pad to move the service vehicles when in edit mode. I wish there was a way to do so, because I don't realize that there is a problem until I'm at the gate, and in order to remove EZdok assigned keys, I would have to keep going back to settings in P3D to change the key assignments. Frustrating for me.

Then why you posted this in a thread that says GSX doesn't work and doesn't have anything to do with it ? In order to keep the forum clean, I splitted the post, so it will appear as a new thread with a proper title.

So, the problem you are reporting, doesn't have anything to do with GSX. What's really happening, is that EZdok has taken over the numeric key pad.

As explained on the GSX manual, the vehicle editor keys are NOT special "GSX keys". GSX simply uses the default Slew keys, which means you DO have a way of changing them...using the DEFAULT Controls Settings page. Just assign different keys to the Slew Events. All the one used by GSX are indicated in the GSX manual, with the indication to which default Slew event they respond to.

Now, this is not guaranteed to work because, if EZdok ALSO intercepts the default Slew events (rather than reading the key itself), changing them won't do anything, since both GSX and EZdok will then continue to compete in the usage of the same (now different) keys.

Hi Umberto,

Sorry about the confusion in the title. Yeah, I see what you mean about EZdok and GSX competing for the usage of the slew events. Two great software, but hard to make them work nice together, at least from an editing stand point. I'm going to try and work some other way to remap EZdok without using the number pad keys, if it's even possible. Would also be nice if one day GSX allows you to move object around and place them in what ever position you like with your mouse, sort of like drag and drop.
