Fsx Fatal Error
« on: August 11, 2015, 05:06:21 am »
Hello,
I was flying out of JFK (freeware, not FSDT add on) earlier in the Aerosoft A321 and about an hour into my flying fsx had a fatal error and closed. Here is the error code:
Faulting application name: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.61472.0, time stamp: 0x475e17d3
Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 6.1.7601.18798, time stamp: 0x5507b3e0
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x0002e426
Faulting process id: 0x1314
Faulting application start time: 0x01d0d39e6c747a2a
Faulting application path: C:\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\fsx.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ntdll.dll
Report Id: 99921a71-3f99-11e5-96cf-b8ac6fffcf5c

As I was looking at event viewer I noticed this as well, roughly 45 minutes before my fatal error occured.

Faulting application name: couatl.exe, version: 3.0.0.3088, time stamp: 0x55940ba4
Faulting module name: unknown, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x7ebd0055
Faulting process id: 0xdc8
Faulting application start time: 0x01d0d39e8dcb28d6
Faulting application path: C:\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\fsdreamteam\couatl\couatl.exe
Faulting module path: unknown
Report Id: cc25782a-3f91-11e5-96cf-b8ac6fffcf5c

One strange thing I did notice after loading my flight at JFK was the green menu bar that said JFK was loading in trial mode, I have never downloaded the demo of FSDT JFK or any other version.
Any suggestions would be a great help!

Thanks

I was flying out of JFK (freeware, not FSDT add on) earlier in the Aerosoft A321 and about an hour into my flying fsx had a fatal error and closed. Here is the error code:

This error doesn't have anything to do with any of our products.

You are not even using FSDT JFK so, it's just a generic FSX crash and fact it happens an hour into the flight, seems to indicate you have too many addons and/or too high settings, and you simply exhausted memory.

This, in fact, further proves the FSX crash is entirely unrelated to our software, since it stopped running 45 minutes *earlier*. In addition to that, Couatl.exe, being an external .exe, CANNOT cause FSX to crash, since the two apps are entirely isolated at the OS level.

Couatl can crash, and not being able to cause any issues to FSX, and this report, of Couatl crashing 45 minutes before FSX, simply confirms that so, the two crashes are entirely unrelated.

In any case, you are not running the current version of our software, so I suggest to download the latest Stand-Alone Addon Manager OR, if you had Couatl installed because of GSX, download and install the latest GSX Full version.

You installed this file ?

If yes, it's likely you have the same issue reported here:

Renaming KJFK_OBJ.BGL with any other name, should remove the bogus Trial message.

I appreciate you taking the time to reply even though its not related to your products. The JFK error was fixed. As far as Couatl not being the correct version I ran the update last week when it popped up but I guess it didn't complete. I opened the couatl foler inside the fsdreamteam folder in fsx and run the update manager so hopefully it updated this time.

Thanks again, and I look forward to getting more FSDT sceneries once all these bugs are sorted out with my pc
