can not find valid afcad. GSX not working **SOLVED**
« on: July 14, 2015, 03:27:34 am »
Umberto,

GSX is dead, I'm sure because of something I am doing or not doing, but here is a log I made tonight.  How do I fix this?

The error in the LOG file is quite clear:

Exception while creating airport cache: MapViewOfFile failed: Not enough storage is available to process this command: "C:\FSX\ORBX\FTX_NA\FTX_AA_KJAC\scenery\Westsim_KJAC_PR_1m_B.bgl" (system:8)

You have run out of space on your Windows boot drive.

Also, I see you use an early version of the Couatl 3 Beta so, considering we are updating it almost daily, it's best if you reinstall the Couatl 3 Beta now. Won't any effect on this specific error (you must free hdd space on your main drive), but it's best to install it anyway.

Umberto,

My C: drive is a 1TB disk with only 436GB on it.  Surely there is space enough for this process?  Is it limited in some other manner? A setting perhaps that can be changed?

And I will download the latest Couatl 3 beta.

*****UPDATE*****
I uninstalled GSX, deleted the GSX folder in AppData/Virtuali and then did a clean reinstall of the latest GSX.

It took quite a long time for the cache to rebuild, but once done, all functions properly.

GSX must have somehow gotten corrupted.  At any rate, problem appears to be solved.

Thanks for your help.

A very long regeneration time is a problem of Windows Defender (or, possibly, another antivirus too), see here for an explanation and a solution:
