XPOI loads for a few seconds, and then approximately a dozen of XPOI graphical icons appear for another few seconds.  Then, both XPOI and the Couatl engine disappear from the addon tab.  I'm using the very latest version of XPOI.

What action do I have to take to resolve this issue?

Turn on logging in the Troubleshooting sections of the "GSX - Settings" (assuming you have GSX installed), then wait for it to happen again, and post your Couatl.LOG and Couatl.ERR files in the %APPDATA%\Virtuali folder.

Sorry, but GSX disappears too from the addon tab after 30 seconds.

Now what?

OK....

I managed to set the logging before the Couatl engine shut down.
The Couatl.err file seems to be older. There wasn't any newer error file. But I can't attach it to this reply. Your system doesn't allow it.
The only file that was written, is the log file. I attached it as a TXT-File.

Hope you can figure this out!

You could have zipped the two files together.

There's nothing wrong with the log file. What was your location when the crash happened ? Does GSX disappear if you don't enable XPOI ?

My location was Freiburg Germany (EDTF).
GSX and XPOI both close and disappear in the addon tab after ca. 20 seconds.

I tried it just now, and made a flight from Freiburg to Stuttgart, with XPOI always enabled, using the feature to search for names (searched for the Stuttgart TV Tower) and with XPOI locking the autopilot on it, and there were no problems.

Could you please send or post your XPOI.INI file ( same folder as the Couatl.LOG ) ?

I deactivated GSX and XPOI and then reactivated them. Everything OK.
It is the Couatl engine that shuts down and disappears in the addon menu tab.

Should I reinstall Couatl?  ...how do I do that?

You mean that after so "much time" ( TWO HOURS, including launch break...) you still haven't got a reply, and you ALREADY soliciting a reply ? What's wrong with you guys, I used to wait weeks or months for software in the "real world" to be fixed, if ever.

In any case, I tried with your XPOI.INI file (so the settings would be exactly the same), and placed the airplane at EDTF, with the geonames points enabled, and waited for several minutes, but no crash that I could see, even after turning on/off the points several times.

Other than being sure you use the current version of XPOI (which also downloads the very latest Couatl, which you have already, as seen in your Log file), I don't know what else you can try, since I cannot reproduce your problem.

If you remove all the %APPDATA%\Virtuali folder, and reinstall XPOI and GSX, all your settings will be removed, so it's like a clean reinstall. Note that, if you do that, you'll lose all your GSX scenery and airplane customizations so, if you made some, you might want to MOVE that folder somewhere else, instead of removing it.

Dear Umberto

You can't reproduce my error, because YOU CAN SEE and use the Couatl engine in your addon menu. I can't. It is not visible any more!

My two programs XPOI and GSX seem to be OK, since the addon manager shows them active.

The Problem is the Couatl sub menu, which has vanished in the addon menu.

So once again - shouldn't I reinstall Couatl (since it doesn't appear in the addon menu)?
If yes - how to I do that?

regards

OK....I decided to clean re-install!

1. I uninstalled GSX, XPOI and Couatl.
2. I deactivated my "F-Secure" antivirus program.
3. I re-installed XPOI and GSX
4. I allowed Couatl to pass my Firewall.
5. I activated my antvirus program
6. I gave couatl.exe administrator startup rights
7. I started FSX
8. I answered verified FSX-trust windows for GSX and XPOI
9. My aircraft showed up on my airfield and GSX showed a red Information line, informing me that it was regenerating the Airport cache. It only reached 6% - THEN STOPPED. Immediately the "Coutl powered submenu" in the FSX- "Add-ons" menu disappeared! ...no more Coutl, XPOI or GSX menus visible.

I am pretty frustrated now and would really appreciate a solution to this problem!  :-\

Dear Umberto

My problem has turned into a desaster! None of my FSDreamteam products work anymore. Couatl, XXPOI and GSX do not work! Moving an aircraft to any of my 13 fsdreamteam airports causes FSX to CTD.

Considering that all other of my 250 foreign airports and sceneries work fine - this seems to be a sole fsdreamteam Problem.

This is a horrible situation. The whole fsdreamteam product environment seems to be corrupted.
I need your acute attention to resolve this!

Hopefully
Robert

You said it disappeared after 20 seconds, that's why I tested that way! Now is not there anymore, not even from the start ?

This would indicate a corrupted .BGL in your system. Do you have a Couatl.LOG file in your %APPDATA%\Virtuali folder ?
