Approach Mesh Issues
« on: January 16, 2015, 07:19:27 am »
Only a tiny issue, but I'm having some mesh troubles around the approach to 08L. The ground seems to come up to the level of the approach lights far too early, and in kind of a cliff-like way. FSX and RW comparison shots to depict what I mean. Don't know if it's an issue with my settings or something else (I've experimented with a few mesh settings so far).

Thanks for any and all help!

Same issue here. Anymore than couple hundred feet or so above ground and the black textures you see in the photo 'flicker' off/on with the real textures appearing briefly. Down low no problem. Just to add...I'm running FSX w/Acceleration, FS Global 2010 mesh, GEX NA, Europe, Atlantic & Pacific tropics and Africa - Middle East, UTX (all versions) plus various 3rd party airport and aircraft add-ons and My Traffic X 5.4c

What issue ?

The "cliff" cannot be avoided because, since as explained so many times in the forum, the sim doesn't really support sloped runways, so it must have the same altitude along the entire airports, which means a very gentle down slope like this cannot be made, so the coastline will have some kind of cliff effect.

And, I don't see any flickering problem or black textures you describe, so it must be surely due to one of the many other 3rd party sceneries you have installed.
