I use the Windows Volume Mixer feature to control what is sent to my system's speakers. To open it, right-click on the speaker icon in your taskbar and select Open Volume Mixer. (In keeping with the Windows philosophy, there are other ways to open it as well.) When opened, each program that has a sound component is shown. As you open or close new programs, the Volume Mixer box will expand or shrink. The volumes of the individual programs can be controlled independently, as shown in this diagram...

As you can see, the volumes from FSX and Couatl are controlled separately. Notice that Pandora is shown as well. I like to listen to music, but only when things settle down in cruise mode. The Volume Mixer gives me a way to control the volume from Pandora (or iTunes, or Windows Media Player) separately from the other programs.

GSX has its own sound volume slider in its settings page.

There's no helicopter sound anywhere in GSX, that's why you don't see any difference, it must be a sound coming from FSX.

With the GSX sound slider which, of course, is in the SOUND settings page.

The other sound setting, the one in the "User Interface" section, as the name says, is JUST the sound of the GSX user interface sounds. Some users were annoyed by the "beep" when GSX is asking to open a door, or the "dong" when you forget to set parking brakes, the "User Interface" sound slider controls THOSE sounds only.

There's no helicopter sound anywhere in GSX, or anything that remotely resembles it. Every GSX vehicle has its engine sound, but that's handled by FSX itself so, even if it's a "GSX vehicle", some sounds are still made by FSX and controlled by the FSX sound sliders. Additional sounds are controlled by GSX sound slider instead. Just try both.

If that's directed at me, no I didn't take a picture of my screen. I used the Snipping Tool that comes with Windows.

To eliminate this unpleasant sound. All you need to do is isolate two files in P3D Sound Folder:

ai_singleprop01
xai_singleprop01

Compress and store them in another or in the same folder as a backup. Obviously remove both original
