I have just bought gsx and everything works ok, I have noticed on some tutorials I have watched, on boarding you can hear cabin crew welcoming people on board
These sounds can be heard when inside the Virtual Cockpit only. Note that, if you are referring to tutorials on YouTube, many have additional software running at the same time, so it's not sure that any cabin announcement you might have heard was coming from GSX.
and also you can hear the ramp agent give commands (I have only text at top of screen to tell me what happening)
how can I access these functions?
That's a bit more worrying. Are you saying you haven't got ANY sound from GSX ?
Check if you have selected the correct audio device in GSX, in the Sound section of the GSX Settings menu.
