GSX 1.9 and P3D 2.4
« on: December 21, 2014, 07:16:37 pm »
Hi

I have just run the 1.9 installer to put GSX into P3D 2.4.

The installer recognised the Lockheed/P3D location and went ahead and installed. I followed that by installing the addon manager.

However when I ran P3D neither GSX nor Addonmanager appear in the options drop down in P3D and ctl-f12 does nothing?

I have GSX and Addonmanager installed in FSX with no problems!

Tell me, am I doing something wrong?

Check your P3D DLL.xml or EXE.xml whether coautl inserted properly, if necessary compare them with your DLL.xml or EXE.xml for FSX.

This has been discussed many times on the forum, and it's a result of an incomplete P3D installation, and it's solved this way:

Thank you.

Switching off Virus software did the trick. Strange that with Virus control on, GSX installed into FSX no problem?

But with P3D not??

Computers are strange unpredictable beasts!

Have a Happy holiday!

Maybe you had your antivirus exclusions set-up in the FSX folder, but not in the P3D folder.

What I usually do, is to exclude the ENTIRE sim folder from antivirus scanning, to get a faster loading time, otherwise the antivirus will try to scan each and every executable ( .dll, .exe and .gau files ) at every startup of the sim.
