Seatbelt sign audio file
« on: November 16, 2023, 04:14:41 am »
Hi,

Question on the seatbelt audio sound. What audio selection does this play under now? So you cockpit, outside. Which one would it be?

Reason i ask is i want to assign a different wav sound

Thanks

I'm a little befuddled by what you're asking. Were you not wanting to use a different .wav sound, in which case, you would need to replace the .wav file itself, which Umberto just gave you. I'm not sure what the relevance of the audio channel is here.

I personally have no idea, nor do I see the relevance if you want to use a different sound for it.

Are you sure about that?

I have replaced that sound file with a tone two sound this has been recorded from a Ryanair 737 flightdeck. I then turned this into a wav sound file. I have a Dual seat 737-800 homecockpit and i use Ryanair SOPs FCOM.

So that two tone siren is to tell the cockpit crew that cabin is secure and pax seated. So after GSX has boarded that sound will go off.

Am I sure that I don't know what audio channel it plays on? Yes. I've never messed around with that before, nor do I have a reason to.

And did it work. Keep in mind that it doesn't only play at the end of boarding, but at the start of de-boarding and, if I recall correctly, every time de-boarding continues when another bus shows up.

You said:

"Reason i ask is i want to assign a different wav sound"

So, what's relevance has which channel is used to play it. It's not something you can change by replacing the .wav file. It will play on the same channel the original sound from GSX played on.

So, if the reason of your further post was that you don't HEAR your new sound, is it possible you changed its format, for example using a Stereo file? The GSX sound engine is positional so, every sound source must be MONO, because it will be positioned on the sound field by the sound engine.

Is it possible to reroute this audio sound through cockpit instead of comms?
