Marshaller readout distance (not so important)
« on: September 29, 2022, 03:16:21 pm »
Hi,
Attached is a screenshot of marshaller readout. From inside the cockpit it is really high.
Can it be taken care of in one of the future updates?
Thanks.
Arslan

I’m up to date with Live Updates but the parking readout viewed from inside my PMDG737 was far too high yesterday. I had to keep scrolling up to see the numbers.

Umberto, can you look at this please? I have asked before and you made a small adjustment but it’s now the worst it’s been. P3Dv5 user.
Cheers,
Ray.

In real life no readout, so for immersion just disable readout, look at marsahaller hands and enjoy :)

But if you move forward slowly and stop when the marshaller’s bats meet you still get told you parked too far or not close enough. The correct spot seems to be a matter of inches. That’s unrealistic.

The parking tolerance has a base value that matches real world advertised specifications for VGDS parking accuracy, and when using a Marhaller, is increased.

At what point should I stop? When the bats meet? Earlier? Later?

When the bats meets but, of course, depending on

- your approach speed,

- the airplane ground friction/inertia model,

- the braking strength and the way you are braking ( keyboard/joy button/digital or analog/progressive brakes )

ALL of these factors have an effect how much in advance you need to brake, and how strongly.

Umberto, I’m approaching at walking speed or slower. I use CH Pro Pedals. Analogue braking. Aircraft range from 737 to a PC12 single engine. The tolerances appear extremely tight.

How far from the perfect spot do you class the parking as too short or too far?
Cheers,
Ray.

+/- 50 cm for Marshaller, or 30 cm for other parking systems.

Thanks. I’ll keep trying to satisfy the program.
