Title: Blue textures
Post by: altena on September 17, 2011, 07:23:16 pm
Hello,

Just installed FSDT KLAX. I get funny blue textures, as shown in the picture.
Is this normal?
Any help appreciated very much

I don't see any blue textures in your screenshots. If you are maybe referring to the greenish runway shoulders, that's how the real airport is:

Umberto,
Thanks for the answer, and the link to the real airport. I know that many people have somewhat different opinions about colors. To me these textures are blue, but again that's a matter of personal interpretation. Most important: it responds to the real airport.
Thanks again, and I will certainly buy KLAX.

Kind regards,
Henk

Altena If you ever go to the real airport the ground around the taxiway is Greenish blue. Thats how its supposed to look. In real life it looks even cooler but FSDT did a good job of recreating it.

Ha, I was waiting for someone to comment on those areas as an "issue".  I think many people don't know that those taxiway areas are actually that color at LAX.

Hi,

Was 4 times at KLAX. As a passenger, I not even noticed those shoulders. Never saw it at any FSX add-on airport. Is quite remarkable and typically for KLAX though.
Thanks anyway for all feed-back.

Regards,
Henk

I think the reason for the green shoulders, is to help pilots not confuse a taxiway for a runway, as explained here:
