Title: Update v1.05
Post by: FlyAAJets on August 14, 2010, 03:57:22 pm
I just installed the latest update. AI are fine on the ground but as you can see I am now floating above it.

Not really, it's just an optical effect, because the ground is a few cm. above the physical ground. In fact, it was the previous version that had the airplane wheels a little bit too sunk in the taxiway, and this version fixes it.

I understand what you are saying about the ground layering, but still looks off some. Looking
at the AI too a bit closer, the wheels are sunk about 1/3. When I touch down the tire smoke
is delayed too. Checked all the above at KDAL and a few other default and all normal. Does
not matter what a/c is used either.

Still something is wrong. Have v2.0 installed.

That doesn't have anything to do with the problem you posted earlier, which was almost unnoticeable.

This is a bigger problem, since there's an altitude mismatch, and it's probably a duplicate AFCAD from another product, using also the wrong altitude, since you have double runway lights and several doubled objects. If AI are also floating, it's 100% sure it's another AFCAD in conflict.

Use the free FSX Airport Scanner to find AFCAD duplicates, and remove all the duplicates, leave only the AFCAD in the fsdreamteam folder.

It is the same problem.

Located @ EJ taxiway and spreads to the south & west side @ terminal B and International terminal.  It is the first time I have used the scenery outside the day light and can really see your optical effect better now.

I have reinstalled the scenery same effect. No other afcads! FSX is stripped down, except Active Sky.

It is the same problem.

From the screenshots, and your description of the first problem (you said airplane wheels were sunk 1/3 into the ground, which is just a few cm), it's not.

The second set of screenshots shows an altitude difference of several meters AND double objects on top of that so no, it's not the same problem, according to your description and screenshots of the first one, which only decribed a very minor issue with sunked wheels and the tire smoke delayed. This is an entirely different issue.a

I really can't see anything like this, everything is correct and, nobody ever reported such problems after the 2.0 update. Before, we had just a couple of users having problems caused by *other* addons that flooded Simconnect commands, so our module couldn't adjust the ground altitude correctly, but 2.0 doesn't use Simconnect anymore so, it shouldn't risk being affected by such addons, and everybody that had similar issues, found them to be fixed in 2.0

Are you using default AI, instead of an AI product ? They always come with their own AFCADs, which can cause somethign like this. Have you run the FSX Airport Scanner ?

Are you using the Mesh settings as suggested in the manual, which is Complexity at 100 and Resolution at 10m/pixel ?
