Hello,
I had to do a system restore on my computer and now i'm trying to get back the two sceneries I got. I installed and put in the register key. But the jet bridges aren't showing up in the phnl scenery or in the klas scenery that I got.
-
It's probably caused by a wrong/missing/incomplete install of AES, so they are excluded by AES, but not replaced with the AES ones.
-
AES? Do I just install it again?
-
I guess so, but I can't be very helpful, better ask on Aerosoft forum.
-
But I don't have anything related to Aerosoft.
-
AES it's from Aerosoft. Since you asked if you have to reinstall it, I assumed you have it...if you never had AES (not even a Trial version or something like that ?) then it's something else which is excluding the jetways.
Do you have the "Advanced Animations" setting checked ? Animated jetways requires that one.
-
Yup, I do have advanced animations. I think I know what I did I put the wrong serial key. I put my order number instead of the serial key in the receipt. But I guess it still accepted it. I uninstalled the phnl scenery to put in the real key and now it won't let me change the serial key.

I reinstalled the scenery and nothing is working.

No, if it asks for your Serial Number, you have to put your Serial Number, you can't use the Order Number in its place.
I uninstalled the phnl scenery to put in the real key and now it won't let me change the serial key.
You don't need to uninstall the scenery to correct a Serial Number that was typed wrong, only select "Register Serial" again.
Besides, if you insert it wrong, it would fail the activation so, it will NOT lock you out from inserting another one, the "Register Serial" function is available, until the Serial Number is successfully activated, only then it disappears. So, if you can't access it, it means you have typed it right. Otherwise you would see the scenery in Trial.
In any case, the most important thing is, NOTHING of this, is related to the Activation. The Jetways are NOT, in ANY way, related to the activation. In fact, they are the only thing that remains visible when the Trial ends. You can lose your activation, type the serial wrong, put a fake serial, it won't matter: jetways will ALWAYS show up.
If you had an activation problem, the scenery would run in Trial version, with everything on, for 5 minutes at a time, jetways included. If what you miss are ONLY the jetways, then it's 100% sure it's NOT the activation or anything related to it.

I reinstalled the scenery and nothing is working.
Please, be more clear. The usual questions now:
do you see the "Addon Manager" menu under "Addons" ?
do you see the "Couatl Powered addons" menu under "Addons" ?
-
Yes both are there.
-
Has the scenery being added to the Scenery Library ?
-
Yes they are in the scenery library.
-
And you don't see *anything* ? Can you check if files have being copied in the fsdreamteam\PHNL folder ? Also, check you don't have set the "XP Compatibility" mode for FSX
-
In the fsdreamteam/phnl folder contains scenery folder, texture folder, and phnl_manual.pdf. Same goes for the KLAS scenery. Where can I check the xp compatibility mode?
-
Where can I check the xp compatibility mode?
Go into your FSX folder with Explorer, right-click on FSX.EXE, select "Properties" and then the "Compabitility" tab. Nothing should be checked in the Compatibility tab.
-
Nothing is checked in the boxes.
-
Sorry, but there must be something else, it's just not possible you don't see *anything*. Have you tried rebooting Windows ?
-
I see all the scenery it's just the jet bridges that I don't see. And today I did a full system restore and installed Windows Vista. I'll get a pic to show you.

They weren't uploading right to the forums so here is a direct link to them.
