Post by: klmflyer on December 23, 2009, 06:37:22 pm
im not sure why it does this, but everytime i startup flight simulator, it always shows this thing where it says some other cloud 9 scenery is "correctly installed" but not validated would you like to validate it now? i have no idea why i have been getting this message but its very annoying and i only have on cloud 9 scenery installed, when i run the simulator, i go to menu and look on add ons, all of the cloud 9 sceneries are validated, not sure why? anyone who could help me on this?

This means you have a Serial Number in the registry for EHAM, but hasn't been activated on this PC yet. So, you obvisouly have to reply YES to the activation question. If your serial is correct, it will activate on your PC, and will never ask the question again.

It means you have Serial Numbers in the registry for those sceneries as well.

It doesn't matter if you have installed the scenery or not, what matters is that you have serial numbers inserted, maybe coming from a previous installations, and this make sense, and it's designed to work this way because, when you remove the scenery, serial numbers will not be removed, so you'll not lose your activation even if you uninstall the scenery and even if you remove Flight sim entirely.

Of course, if those serial numbers are correct, they'll activate, so you'll find the scenery active and registered already the next time you decide to install it.

Either a wrong or an old version of that .dll. This should be fixed by running the Addon Manager update, which is required if you have any Cloud9 product that hasn't an FSDT installer yet (as clearly indicated on the Cloud9 page of this site).

If you have installed EHAM using the FSDT installer, this shouldn't be needed but, if you installed an older Cloud9 installer *after* an FSDT one, you need to install the Stand-Alone Addon Manager after having run the Cloud9 installer.

If you are still getting an "esellerateengine.dll not found" error, (which shouldn't happen if you follow the correct installation steps as mentioned above), there might be a wrong/corrupt/old version in your \windows folder and permission issues on your install, that prevent the installer to update it. In this case, download the .dll fom here:

http://www.virtualisoftware.com/binaries/eSellerateEngine.dll

And put it into the C:\Windows folder, if you are on XP, or the C:\ProgramData\Esellerate folder if you are on Vista/Win7

oh i finally understand now, because i have the v1.02 of the EHAM scenery, but how do i get the "stand alone add on manager"?

The stand-Alone Addon Manager location is linked on the Cloud9 products page here.

But you can't use EHAM 1.02 with it so, it's no use updating the Addon Manager, you need to install EHAM 1.04 using the latest FSDT installer.

And, as I've said, since this IS an FSDT installer, you don't need to update the Addon Manager anymore, unless you'll install another older Cloud9 installer *after*
