Title: Vancouver V2 for MSFS released
Post by: virtuali on October 16, 2020, 12:03:31 pm
Fsdreamteam is happy to announce the release of Vancouver V2 for MSFS 2020.  This scenery has been converted to MSFS 2020, starting from the FSX version we released in 2013. However, is not a “straight” conversion, and there has been many changes, both due to the changing airport layout, but also to offer specific MSFS features when possible.

- The airport layout has been updated. A whole new section of the main Terminal ( Pier B, Gate 11-28 ) has been modeled, together with the new extension ( Pier A, gate 1-12 )

- Due to these changes, lots of parking names has been renamed, to reflect the current situation.

- All textures and materials has been improved and converted to PBR, with added normal map details and proper metallic/roughness maps.

- Dynamic Lighting has been remade entirely from scratch, using the native MSFS 2020 lighting system, with hundreds of individual light sources.

- The background photoreal image has been updated to reflect changes at Piers A and B of the Main Terminal.

- All Aprons materials has been remade using the native MSFS system.

- All 3d taxi-light fixtures have been remade using the native MSFS system.

- Runways have now their correct Slope profile.

- Jetways has been all remade according to the latest MSFS 2020 SDK.

The scenery cost only 9.9$, and if you are an existing user of the 2013 version for FSX, you can even get an extra discount on top of that! Instructions about the discount will be sent by email to all registered users. If you bought the 2013 version from Simmarket, the discount price will be shown in your account there.

The product has been sent to Microsoft for approval, so it will should be available on the MS Marketplace soon.

No, the scenery will be always kept updated by the FSDT Live Update, no matter how old your installer is.

But if you LOSE the original installer, the Extended Download service will let you download it again from Digital River for another 2 years after purchase. Without it the download link will expire in about 1 month.

We don't really suggest to buy the Extended download, just make a backup of the installer, perhaps using a Cloud service ( it's only 200MB ), to prevent the risk of hardware failures.

Sorry, no. The discount is only available for FSDT or Simmarket users, it's just too complex to trace other retailers databases, which they don't always share. We think even with not discount, the price is quite attractive.

Any new version for P3D users? Or should we wait for the other one?

We'll decide about it after the next P3D5 update.

I purchased CYVR directly from this website through esellerate, but have not received any email with "special instructions" to receive discounted version yet.  Received an email notification of this forum topic only.

I purchased CYVR from alas! now-defunct FSPilotShop.com. I am wondering if I can get the discount too. I could forward the relevant email messages from them to you in order to verify my purchase.

FSimStudios is working on YVR for P3D. Not all dev's have pinned their future on MSFS.

We have many thousands of emails still to send, their are sent from the activation server, and they don't send emails too fast, otherwise they might be flagged as spam. It will take several hours more for all emails to be sent.

If you still haven't received it in the next 24 hours ( or if the email you bought CYVR from is no longer valid ), then yes, you can contact support.

No problem. I'll probably purchase from Simmarket as emails from FSDT, for whatever reason, do not always get through. I like the idea that Simmarket automatically applies the discount if appropriate.

Thanks for all the excellent scenery and hard work.

Exactly the same here. Would appreciate a feedback how to get the discount. Thanks!

Greetings.
Received the past customer (2013) discount with thanks. The email on how to access it was straight forward.
This scenery (CYVR) is very good.
Cheers,
Dave

I have purchased YVR scenery this morning, it does really look good great job, which is disappointing is that it does not reflect the extension made on the runway 26L which have been operational for few years now, any plan to have that updated any time soon?.

Thanks!

Agreed 100%, while the extension doesn't get used very often, it has been there since mid 2017 and should be part of the scenery.

Downloaded and installed but I am a little confused if it installed correctly. It didnt go in to the Community folder as most addons have and when checking the installed addons within the game it doesnt show. Probably missing something obvious though.

I like many received a notification email this morning of the software's release, but the email that we need to incorporate our discount is nowhere to be found.  May I suggest that in the future, the discount is simply tied to our account and login at the time of purchase.  I would assume that FSDT has the needed information of who purchased what product (hence the email I received this morning).   I've never had this situation that I'm ready to purchase a product, and I'm waiting on an email before I can complete the transaction. Sent an email earlier to virtuali but have received no reply (szuch@wowway.com) .  This just seems really awkward and inefficient.

Thanks for the great products,  wish it was easier to obtain them....

Received my email for the upgrade discount 1 hour ago.  Found it in the spam folder!

Thanks for the upgrade and for releasing the airport for MSFS.  I have been using CYVR recently in P3DV4, and love it.

As I've said already:

We have many thousands of emails still to send, their are sent from the activation server, and they don't send emails too fast, otherwise they might be flagged as spam. It will take several hours more for all emails to be sent.

If you still haven't received it in the next 24 hours ( or if the email you bought CYVR from is no longer valid ), then yes, you can contact support BY EMAIL.

Please don't post on the forum, use only email. If the original email you used to purchase CYVR is no longer valid, please include:

- your old email

- the new email you want it to change it into

- If you bought CYVR from a retailer OTHER than FSDT or Simmarket, then add your purchase receipt OR you activation key to the email as well.

If you look at your purchase receipt, you would know you can't "redownload" from our site, but you are supposed to download from Digital River.

The link lasts 30 days from purchase, or 2 years if you bought the optional Download Protection service ( which is enabled by default so, if you haven't bought it, it's because you chose not to ). If your link has expired, as explained in other post in the forum, you should contact support BY EMAIL, so we can send you the installer using other means.

How frequent will updates be released for Vancouver?

How frequent will updates be released for Vancouver?

Whenever we have something to update. At this time, we are working full time with GSX for MSFS, and converting other sceneries (KLCT and KIAH), but we anticipate another sizable update for CYVR in the near future.

And one more question, will the airport support multiple jetways at the gates in the next updates?

This is something which I feel would be amazing for this airport.

Multiple jetways are not supported by MSFS 2020, just like it was for FSX and P3D. They only happened because of SODE.

Do you think this will be supported in the future? Would love to be able to attach multiple jetways eventually to larger aircraft!
