Title: Couatl crashed on approach to KSDF
Post by: Thralni on November 04, 2019, 07:17:47 pm
First ever flight into KSDF today with the Maddog. Checked before I flew the flight that KSDF was okay, and it seemed fine. But on approach it appeared to start loading the airport, though it did so rather late, it seemed. I saw all the buildings appear, all black at first and I suppose it was going to load the textures next. This was in exterior view. I then switched back to the VC, but the loading of SDF had stopped. The buildings were all gone and it was only a little later that I realized that the Couatl entry in the Addon list had disappeared, as well as GSX. Looks like Couatl crashed? I then found this in the Windows error log:

Faulting application name: Couatl.exe, version: 3.2.0.4264, time stamp: 0x5d937c1a

Any idea what's going on?

I found another thread where somebody had asked why Couatl can't be restarted mid-flight, and I think Umberto mentioned that this had to do with the fact that the channel through which Couatl communicated with the sim can only be renewed by a sim restart. I have to say, this is a major bother. It's not acceptable that a few minutes before landing Couatl crashes without a way to get it back. Literally the entire airport is gone...

Enable Logging in the Troubleshooting section of the GSX Settings and, if it happens again, exit the sim and check the log file at %APPDATA%\Virtuali\Couatl.LOG

ZIP this file and Attach it to a post, so I can look at it.

Thanks Umberto, I'll report back with logs if it ever happens again.
