Good morning,
So I just loaded up my plane with FSX at KLAX. When my aircraft opened up at KLAX, I got a little notification saying "KLAX Trial period has begun" I went to my add-on manager and for LAX, it said it was already activated. I closed my simulator and tried it again. The same message appeared that the trial period has begun. I'm really confused on what just happened. I hope to hear back soon. Also note, that everything is up to date, and I'm still getting this message.
Thanks,
James

Do you have an addon scenery for KLAX from Ray Smith maybe ?
-
No, I do not. Here is a screenshot of what the message shows every time I pull up LAX.
-
I just flew out of LAX on my simulator five days ago, and that message didn't appear at all.
-
Are you sure you have the latest version of KLAX installed ?
-
Yes, I'm positive that I have the latest version of KLAX.
-
I just updated it the other day.
-
Should I uninstall it and then reinstall it?
-
Yes, but be sure you download the latest installer from our site.
-
What about from the FSDT Add-on application? That's where I updated my products from?
-
Just to verify, this is the best way to uninstall the scenery correct? I want to make sure that I uninstall it completely before I reinstall it.

Yes, that's the standard uninstaller.
-
I just installed KLAX and it's still giving me the same message...
-
And I did install from the latest installer. (or at least I'm positive I am.)
-
I'm sorry, but I cannot reproduce this problem.
Is KLAX working normally, and not disappearing after 5 minutes ? If yes, the "Trial started" it's a bogus message which, as I've said, can be caused by another scenery for KLAX installed, the one from Ray Smith had this problem.
-
I can post screenshots if that's better?
-
Not sure how a screenshot would make any difference. Could you just reply to my last question, is KLAX working normally, and not disappearing after 5 minutes ?
-
It works, but the jetways don't load at all. One thing I did do when I was uninstalling it, it wanted me to ask if I should uninstall the LiveUpdate application. I clicked no because I didn't know if it would impact the other products, KJFKV2, KDFW, and PHNL. I don't know if I accidentally installed the updates on top of the old ones without uninstalling them or what?
-
Should I uninstall everything including the FSDTLive Update application?

Should I uninstall everything including the FSDTLive Update application?
It shouldn't make any difference, if you install the latest KLAX, it will run the FSDT Live Update at the end so, everything will be updated at that point.
-
Here is what I found. I did find that it is installed?
-
That's the correct scenery AFCAD

I talked to the guys over at AES, and they confirmed that I don't have any duplicate airports at all. Because you said that I had the "Ray Smith KLAX." I know you said that "We can't produce the problem" But clearly something is wrong and I could use all the help I need. I understand that KLAX has GSX, but I'm not a fan of GSX. What else can I do?
-
Should I uninstall all my FSDT products?

Should I uninstall all my FSDT products?
You can try.

I do have a question. When I reinstalled KLAX, I went into the Add-on Manager to enter in the activation code, and I found that it was already entered. I asked. someone on the Avsim forums, and they suggested for me to ask you how to remove all traces (including the leftover registration data so that I can get a 100% install). So how can I do that? The last time I thought I uninstalled/reinstalled KLAX, it didn't allow me to enter in the activation code. I thought that every time I remove a scenery that I have to reenter it? I think it's finding the backup registration somehow.

Is KLAX on V2.21?
-
Is KLAX on V2.21?
I think you are misunderstanding that that document means. It's from AES, and it says that *AES* must be at least version 2.21 to support FSDT KLAX, provided you spent credits on it.
Not that you need it anymore now, since the current version of KLAX comes with SODE jetways so, there's no reason to use AES with it, considering KLAX is designed to work perfectly with GSX and won't even install without it.

Can you please answer my question above about the uninstalling/reinstalling part? I feel like you haven't been helpful.

an you please answer my question above about the uninstalling/reinstalling part? I feel like you haven't been helpful.
I think already replied to your questions about reinstalling many times. Could please clarify what exact problem you have now ?

Umberto, it really is frustrating how you can't help me fix this issue. I have NO OTHER KLAX INSTALLED on my computer. I have reinstalled KLAX and I still have the same issue. You say "I have another KLAX scenery" but I do not. There has to be something that you can do to help me out. Please I am asking for your support.

The jetways are still not there. That is the issue.

might be something in the FSDT GSX Control panel. if u don't see it on desktop its in the FSDT folder somewhere. run it as admin and check to see if you default jetways are turned on or off then fire up P3d and check

Are you realizing you are reviving a post from last year ? I obviously assumed you fixed it by now, and just forget to come back to say you have.
So no, you haven't fixed it so, I can only repeat and confirm: if you have both KLAX fully updated and GSX L2 full updated, the only possible reasons for not seeing jetways are:
- You have another scenery in conflict. The most common cause of conflicts are AFCAD files provided with AI Traffic products.
OR
- You have edited the KLAX AFCAD, so it's not the one with provide the scenery with:
OR
- You customized the scenery with GSX, made some kind of mistake, so the GSX profile we supply with the scenery is not in use.
The first thing to check is the name of the AFCAD, in the GSX parking customization page. It's supposed to be the one we supply with KLAX, in the Fsdreamteam\KLAX folder.
If the name is correct ( and assuming you haven't modified it ), the next thing is to check if you have a custom GSX profile for it in the %APPDATA%\Virtuali\GSX folder. If you have it, REMOVE IT, so the one we supply with the scenery will be used. Your custom profiles have an higher priority over the one with supply the scenery with but, if your custom profile was made BEFORE we added GSX/SODE jetways to the scenery, you won't see any jetways, because your custom profile wasn't made to add them.

Good morning Umberto, I really appreciate you giving this detailed explanation on what might be going on with my scenery. Where can I find the name of the AFCAD file? Also, I'm having trouble trying to find the %APPDATA%/Virtuali/GSX folder. Do I have to have the Sim open to find what you are telling me?
-
I can't open up the GSX customization page. I don't know where that is. I also tried searching for %APPDATA%\Virtuali\GSX folder, however nothing shows up? I'm trying not to get overwhelmed. How do I get to where you're talking about?

You are not supposed to search anything. You just type exactly this:
%APPDATA%\Virtuali\GSX
on the windows search bar or in an empty Explore address, press Enter and the correct folder will open.
