Title: GSX PBR Update preview video
Post by: virtuali on April 23, 2019, 03:16:52 pm
Hello to all,

We are very sorry this update is taking longer than expected, so here's a video to show some of the new features:

There will be a new video soon, showing how easy will be now to customize ground and catering operators, and jetways, with new logos.

Looks really good!!!

Hope, the update does also contain a separate command for boarding the pilots and crew?

Very impressive!! Will there also be a public beta testing? Or any timeframe indication?
Thanks for sharing!

Looks really great!! Will the tow-to-parking feature be added in this update or in a later one?

would be more important to have a better / configurabale working pushback.
As example in TNCM it is still not possible from the last Stand on the right side (A4) or EDDP A401/402 , A421/422 and so on.
Towing is also missing since a very long time as other thing which are announced since a very long time.

Already discussed and answered here:

"Not possible" is something that should always be verified, before being so sure about it. Maybe it might be difficult to do with the current interface, or not possible without changing the scenery AFCAD, but surely not impossible.

If you think they really are, why there are no post of yours reporting a problem with the pushback on these sceneries at these gates, supplying with the usual data we need, like which scenery you are referring to, which gate, which  AFCAD, and how you would like the pushback to be ? How we would even supposed to KNOW there is a possible problem, if you don't report it ?

Yes, we know perfectly well GSX Pushback doesn't pull so, are these all cases that cannot be solved unless pulling back ?

If yes, then they are in fact "impossible" with the current GSX and you will have to wait for the Pushback remake, which will obviously include pull, which makes automatically possible towing from gate to gate (they are the same thing).

If not, and such push could be done in the normal direction, then it's surely possible with GSX so, please, make a proper post, indicating what you want to achieve, supply all data required, and we'll see if it could be done by a simple custom pushback node.

We never "announced" it. THIS is announcement, which shows what IS going to be in an update. Instead, we said we'll redo the Pushback entirely, but we never announced anything or said it would be in THIS update.

Will there also be a viewpoint in the SODE jetway at the entry of the door so we can see passengers boarding, even when the jetway is not of the transparant type? And for example at the bottom of the stairs? Or are only 'real' vehicles like pushback truck, fuel truck, bagage loaders equipped with specific viewpoints?

Yes, of course there will be. All jetways will have two custom viewpoints, which can be also very useful in the customization editor, to place them more precisely.

We placed custom cameras that activate/deactivate automatically depending on the context. For example, when in the airplane configuration, there are specific custom cameras that can be used to move the pointer more precisely and easily, for example a door, the custom refuel point under the wing, etc.

While editing the vehicles parking position, there's a special Top view that, instead of being centered on the airplane, like the default one, follows the vehicle which is being edited right now. Useful to place things that might be tricky to see otherwise, like a Docking system that must by flush to a wall.

That looks amazing. The people look very real and i love that you have mixed geneders in your driver team!
It really makes you thinking about: Why should I fly away? Today I stay at the airport and watch the GSX Crew work...

Any idea on a release date for the new fueling features?

I assume it will be in the whole package.

They will be part of the update, of course. But it will work only for GSX Level 2 users. All the other features will be available for free for everybody (even those that bought GSX in 2012...), although most of the features will require P3D 4.4+ at minimum. For FSX, it will be just a collection of generic bugfixes of issues found in the last months.

This should give an answer.

I would like to see the "walkers" get updated. Possibly see them with a baton in their hand. Also maybe have an option of them walking in with the aircraft to the gate.

The Marshaller has been updated with the same level of quality as the drivers seen in the video. And yes, of course they have batons, in PBR and can be seen at dark because they emit light.

I can admit i was a little impatient, often thinking "jeez still no update? It's been like, what, 4 months already. Come on!! ::)"

But now seeing the details and additions not to mention, a remake of almost every model and and some extra's and doing the whole thing in PBR, I totally understand. Now I think it's definatly 100% worth the wait. ;D Only thing i'm wondering are FPS performance, but since most things are done with P3Dv4 native tools and items, i'm guessing it will not be a big hit on FPS.

Keep up the good work!

What happened to the update? It just went off the radar. Does this mean update is imminment/soon?

Nothing "bad" happened but:

- Esellerate will close its store very soon, so we must be sure our software will be updated to work on the new system and our site too, without causing any trouble to existing users.

- While working at KORD, we added some new features that required a GSX update too.

- We were able to add other still unannounced improvements to GSX and fix other minor bugs we found in the last days, while testing the ecommerce transition.

- We had a bit of time to work with several very well known airplane developers, which are doing very nice things with the GSX integration, and we added many customization options for developers needing more control over GSX from the airplane.

We'll publish the ecommerce software update and the GSX PBR update together. And KORD V2 no longer after that.

Umberto,
will there be anything the end users need to do tp preserve license key from previous purchases from Esellerate?

will there be anything the end users need to do tp preserve license key from previous purchases from Esellerate?

Nothing, if your order was made less than 10 years ago, because we'll migrate all Esellerate orders to our new ecommerce site, so your existing key WILL be recognized and can be activated on the new site, even if it originally was issued by Esellerate. AND, your email will also be recognized there, to retrieve your key on the new site, in case you lost your purchase receipt and your serial number.

If your order dates MORE than 10 years ago ( earlier than May 2009, to be exact ), follow the instructions here:

http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php/topic,19559.0.html

The absolute worse case scenario is:

- Your order was made more than 10 years ago

AND

- You lost your purchase receipt

AND

- You lost the .REG backup file we make in your C:\Users\YOURNAME folder each time you reactivate

In this last case, you'll have to contact support, giving some kind of proof of purchase, and we'll reissue a new Serial Number.

The same is valid if you bought from other retailers. Normally, you will be able to retrieve your Serial Number from whatever system the retailer has in place to retrieve orders but, if that won't work for some reason, for example the retailer going bankrupt, disappearing, etc, and you lost ALL your backups, we'll try to fix it up, if you could provide some kind of proof of purchase, like the original bank statement or PayPal statement.
