Title: Airport parking position
Post by: JacMad on October 13, 2018, 08:52:15 pm
Hey guys

When I want to use the airport parking customizer, the selected objects won't move. Don't know what I'm doing wrong as it has worked before. Any suggestions?

Assuming your keyboard is connected and functioning, ensure the "Toggle Keyboard Input" is NOT set on.

Thanks for the replay. I play on a laptop so keyboard is connected. Where do I see toggle switch is off?

You must be sure the NumLock is not enabled, which is usually indicated with a light on the keyboard. The "Toggle Keyboard Input" sounds more like a specific feature of an addon that can read the keyboard too.

No, numlock is not enabled, I see the word 'slew' flashing in the bottom right corner and I can't remember that it was there before. When I want to customize the plane in 3D editor I have the same problem  ::)

Then your problem is caused by another addon that took the slew keys. Most likely, it's a camera utility, which you must disable in order to use the GSX customization.

Okay, I'll have a look at that one and let you know. Thank you

Nope I don't know anymore, I know it does work because it worked when I just bought it. I haven't played for about 3 months and now I have this problem. I'm at the the point to just uninstall everything and reinstall again. Can't think of anything else to do

Did you use EZDOK or Chaseplane?

I did Ezdok but I uninstalled it and it's still the same

I think you're on to something, not one of the default buttons for FSX camera works, so maybe Ezdok is screwing up the system, but I did uninstall it, can kit still do it?

Delete your camera.cfg and standard.xml and than start P3D. Afterwards it should work.

Okay, deleted the files, but still the same problem. I see that GSX also doesn't show all the vehicles in the editor. Only the plane and the pushback truck

This problem doesn't have anything to do with another addon stealing the keys. That would only cause the vehicles not moving.

In the editor, you will only see vehicles that can work with your currently loaded airplane. Stairs, for example, won't appear if you use a small Cessna, since that plane will not use any stairs. Or, it can happen if you use the editor with an unsupported airplane that hasn't been configured for GSX yet.

This is not necessarily a problem, since even if you don't see the vehicle itself, you can still customize its position by moving the orange pointers (blue, which will turn to orange when active) but, in general, it's best to customize a parking with a supported airplane, so you can see all the vehicles.

Okay, that makes sense and I can understand that. My original problem was that the vehicles won't move and it make sense that another add on is stealing the keys. I uninstalled all the add on's I had for FSX and still got the same problem. Out of desperation I have uninstalled GSX and FSX and deleted the FSX folder. I will Re-install FSX and GSX only and see what happens then.
