Title: Addon Manager not required
Post by: aldaffern on October 03, 2018, 04:19:01 am
Hi guys, I just read on the web sight that Addon Manager is no longer required. Do I uninstall it since its not needed?
Thanks Allen

Standalone Addon Manager

The Stand-Alone Addon Manager is no longer required. Just run the FSDT Live Update from the Desktop, to keep all your FSDT products constantly updated.

I think this refers to the separate module. It is now part of the download packages. I might be wrong, but I think it is still mandatory to run live update?

I just installed the latest update and now they're no buildings at my FSDT airports.  Addon manager and coatl do not exist in my toolbar in FSX.

Cheers!

That's likely the antivirus fault that, just because we updated Couatl.exe, is mistakenly assuming it might be a threat.

- Restart Windows

- Configure the Antivirus to exclude the whole Addon Manager from scanning.

- Run the Live Update again.

It's not the anti-virus; couatl is running (and crashes!) and the Addon manager is already excluded from Windows Defender.

Given the large number of reports all at once, I would respectfully suggest that it's related to yesterday's update.

Yes, of course it's related to the update, but there's nothing wrong with it. As I've said, each time we release a new update, some antivirus blocks it by default, just because it's new. Please follow my previous instruction to the letter, including restarting Windows.

- Restart Windows

- Configure the Antivirus to exclude the whole Addon Manager from scanning.

- Run the Live Update again.
