Title: No buildings JFK **SOLVED**

I have no terminal building with KjFK.  It seems like there is lots of different solutions but which one works?

Do you have the Addon Manager and the Couatl menu under the Addons menu ? And, you don't say which simulator you use.

Yes. Both.  I’m using FSX Steam Windows 10.

Yes.  Installed AND Active.  It also shows on the top line in the FSX add-on scenery list.

Do you also have FSX installed, or you USED to have the regular (non-Steam) FSX installed at one time ?

I have a brand-spanking new entire computer with Steam downloaded.  Almost all of my pRevious FSX software has reinstalled with no problem to Steam. I even pulled 6 year old Megascenery cds out of a drawer, ran them, and they installed and work flawlessly.  I have to say these airports are a real pain to install for some reason.  My KORD installed and has no problems but this JFK has no buildings...I don’t get it.

If other FSDT sceneries are working, there's no reason whatsoever why JFK wouldn't.

Note that, JFK now REQUIRES GSX Level 2 (which of course is free to use at all our airports), because it now has SODE jetways from the GSX Level 2 library. I believe the updater should have warned you about this. Do you have the latest full GSX installed ?

I have the very same problem in FSX. No Steam.
Also, I try to reinstall Los Angeles v2 with the Addon Mgr but cannot get thru even I insert the Serial No.
I don't have the GSX. Do I have to get it?

Both JFK and KLAX now requires GSX Level 2 to be installed (not necessarily bought).

Hi,

I recently got back into FSX with a new PC and tried to reinstall the FSDT New York JFK (v1) that I bought 2013.
After deactivating both Windows Defender and Kaspersky I downloaded and installed the program.  I followed the instructions (asper Add-On Manager) and registered and reinstalled the program using the ser.no. but I only can see some of the jetbridges, some ground-equipment and a few of the airport lighting (green-centerline lights, approach lights. No buildings, taxiway or runway edge lights). There are shadows where the buildings are supposed to be!
FSX is run from its own directory C:\.
The program does not show in the Start bar (only in the C:\FSX directory) nor does Coatl engine do anything.
PC Specs:
Intel i5-8400 2.8Ghz
256G SSD + 1TB HDD
nVidea GTX 1050ti 4GB
Win 10 64-bit

Any ideas how to get this back working. :-\

I only have the Add-on manager. The Coatl is not there. I found the Coatl in the directory C:\Fsx\FSDreamteam\Coatl. I clicked on the file to activate it but nothing happens.

You are not supposed to start Couatl yourself, it will never work. It must be started from the sim.

- Restart Windows.

- Configure the antivirus to exclude the Addon Manager folder from scanning.

- Run the FSDT Live Update again.

Hi Umberto,

I dowloaded the standalone version of Add-On Manager but I cannot get it to work. After initializing it starts to mention that GSX level-2 is required for: LAX, LAS, MEM, JFK V2, HOU, CLT, SDF and GVA.

Then I get an error code: 1073740791.

Coatl engine cannot run because AV firewall preventing it.
I disabled Windows Defender and Kaspersky before downloading and during installation. Even went to Kaspersky to confirm programs as trusted but still no joy!

Since the message said you must install GSX Level 2, you shouldn't download the Stand-Alone Addon Manager instead but, of course, GSX Level 2.

Hi Umberto,

I finally managed to get KJFK V1 to run in FSX.
One reason was that my Kaspersky AV was blocking the program from installing and running. I had to confirm that the program was a trusted software.
I then had to download GSX level 2 and activate it. GSX then required me to download the Standalone Manager again.
After I did all of that and including them in the Kaspersky Safe-list, KJFK V1 was up and running once again.

I had no idea that Windows 10 was so picky, almost every software that I download and try to install is seen as malicious.
