Title: Mounds along taxiway..how to get rid of them?
Post by: kenthom on June 28, 2018, 05:10:38 am
I have little mounds that appear like autogen objects near the GA parking area.  They are next to the taxiway that leads to RW33R.  I updated the airport via the manager to no avail.  I reinstalled the airport to no avail.  I deleted the shaders and scenery indexes (P3dv4) and nothing has worked to eliminate them.

Has anyone else experienced this and have a suggestion to get rid of them.  The rest of the airports seems to be fine.

Thanks

If with "mounds", you mean a kind of terrain spikes, the problem is caused because you have set your Mesh resolution too high, instead of using the 5 meters/pixel  setting suggested in the KIAH manual, Page 10.

Setting the mesh any higher than that is useless, because no meshes with a *real* (not upsampled) resolution higher than that exists, and if you make the sim upsample the mesh for you (by setting a value higher than necessary), it will cause those visual artifacts and will use more system resources for no real benefit.
