Title: No pushback option?
Post by: sddjd on April 17, 2018, 01:16:57 am
I'm still learning my way around GSX (and love it) and so this may be user-error. Currently when I select a cargo location at T2G VHHH (p3dv4.1), C19 for example, I don't receive a pushback nose left/right option when ready to depart. I'm able to request a follow-me to the runway, etc.

Is this something to do with the afcad (ie perhaps the aircraft is too large) or perhaps the cargo parking aren't configured correctly in some other way....? Thanks!

UPDATE:
Just tried another larger parking spot- this time I'm offered the pushback option, but as soon as the tug connects (parking brake set) I see the "hello.... ready for pushback" and then the footman dances in place (I left this for 15 minutes). No push ever begins, nor notice to release brakes.

Quoting from Page 29 of the GSX manual:

Quote
Pushback Direction
GSX reads the Pushback preference from the AFCAD file, which can be Left, Right, Both or None. Normally GSX will not allow pushback from a parking position that has its preference set to None, on the assumption the scenery designer had a specific reason to disallow Pushback on that parking spot. But, in case the AFCAD is simply not accurate, this option will allow you to instruct GSX to override the Pushback preference set in the AFCAD with the one specified here.

?? Sorry, but this really cannot happen. The dancing marshaller should appear only AFTER you park, and only 20% of the times you do a "very good parking", and it should only last like 30 seconds.

Please indicate the precise reproduction steps, because nobody ever reported this.

Hi Umberto,
I confirmed the AFCAD for T2G VHHH has cargo positions C24-31 set to pushback preference "both".

By dancing in place, the marshaller steps off the tug after connection. I see the "hello captain... ready for..." message pop up. After that the marshaller stands directly beside the tug and appears as if he's marching in place but doesn't move. He also makes a hand motion at his side repeatedly. To my eye it looks like he's stuck in a loop of some kind.

Not sure how I can capture this in video. The steps to reproduce are:

New scenario, launch P3d with aircraft already selected (77X) at T2G VHHH parking C28, cold and dark.
After preflights I am able to request a pushback choice nose left/right.
The tug arrives and connects properly, but from there it stalls in the manner described above.

I should say I don't have this problem at other airports/sceneries, so I suspect it's something particular to the T2G airport, and it's certainly not a showstopper. I just don't know how to try to diagnose it. Thanks!
