Downloaded latest GSX installer and did the same for KIAH but I'm getting this message..Did some searching but couldn't find anything concrete...Running FSX SE...
-
Do you have the SODE menu under the "Addons" menu ?
-
No I don't..
-
That's why GSX says in unavailable. Have you registered it to the sim, with the SODE Platform Manager, which is ran towards the end of the GSX installation ? If you didn't, start the SODE platform manager now (when the sim is not running), and be sure is activated.
-
Its registered and activated..

Do you have the SODE menu when the sim start ?
-
What do you mean when the sim starts? I thought the only place to see it is under the add ons menu.. Thats the only place Ive looked and its not there..

Do you have to install GSX again to get the Sode Platform Manager?

That's the only place you are supposed to look for. I was asking if you maybe had it when starting the sim and it then disappeared after using it, or using GSX.
If you don't have it right from the start, the problem doesn't have anything to do with GSX, it's just an issue with SODE not running.

Are you saying you are now missing the SODE Platform Manager as well ?? In one of your previous message, you said SODE was "registered and activated", so you clearly had the Platform Manager then, otherwise you couldn't verify that. So now, it's gone too ?
Try to download and install SODE from its website and install it manually:

I don't know whats going on.I downloaded from above everything says active and registered but it still doesn't show in Add-on..Platform installation path is Sim folder?

Then (as I suspected), the problem doesn't have anything to do with GSX, since you cannot even install SODE separately. Have you tried Uninstalling (from the Windows Control Panel) and Reinstalling it ?
Platform installation path is Sim folder?
Yes.
-
I uninstalled and reinstalled and it said active and registered after I reinstalled but it's the same results. Nothing in Add on. After the screen pops up saying registered and active I then proceed to press x to close or quit to close. Nothing in addon
-
Is SODE registered for the correct version of the sim?
-
How do I find that out? Where do I look? It says registered and active after installation.
-
Anymore help?
-
The whole thread has all the help you could ever need in solving this issue. Please read it again, and follow all suggestions.
-
I did and none of it helped if you read my replies.

But since, as I've said, these are the only know troubleshooting steps to fix SODE not starting, you probably have a different problem in your system, possibly missing libraries. The point is, it's nothing related to GSX, so you might try the SODE support forum:

Before deleting all FSDT products, I too had the same issues with SODE and the same responses from you. I then went to the SODE developers, and they told me it was an issue with FSDT; a frustrating viscous circle that never solved itself. Do yourself (and the products) a big favor and either offer the user the option to use CTRL-J for jetway operation, or remove SODE integration all together. There are deep compatibility issues with the product that no one seems to be able to solve. In the end, the user buys the product from you, and integration of SODE was your decision, therefore fixing it is your responsibility.

You are replying to a thread that, as the user reported, clearly indicated HIS issue couldn't possibly have anything to do with GSX, since HE wasn't able to run SODE, not even by installing manually.
This doesn't necessarily mean YOU have the same problem so, if you think your issue is different, then please open a new thread with a proper description and report, and we'll try to follow similar troubleshooting steps, to assess if your issue is indeed different or not.

We don't have any plans to return to the old bugged Ctrl+J jetways, since SODE works very nicely.

I don't really know what you are referring to. If you have issues with products, open a new thread, with a proper title and a proper issue report, and we'll help and will try to understand if the issues are really a problem of the products and not, as it usually is, a problem caused by other conflicting addons or other software conflicts in your system.
In the end, the user buys the product from you, and integration of SODE was your decision, therefore fixing it is your responsibility.
Which is what we always do. But you cannot expect we could fix everything related to a 3rd party FREE utility which is used by several OTHER developers too, even well before we started using it. We can only collect reports and feedback, and eventually suggest them (IF they are indeed real issues) to SODE author, and hopefully (IF they are something that requires fix on SODE's part), they might be eventually fixed.
