Title: Grainy taxiways/runway at night
Post by: Nepomuk on June 12, 2017, 06:17:44 pm
Hello!
The taxiways look really strange (grainy, shimmering) at night. Take a look at the attached picture. Is it intentional?

Best regards
Stephan

This has been already discussed in this same section: we must update the texture for dynamic lighting, same as we did for KLAX. Will do it as soon as possible.

The problem has been fixed in the latest installer. Since the way CYVR is made (textures are generated at install time), it's not fully supported in the Live Update at this time, so you can download the improved textures here:

http://update.fsdreamteam.com/CYVR_det_bitu_normal.dds
http://update.fsdreamteam.com/CYVR_det_bitu.dds

Both to be placed into

C:\Program Files (x86)\Addon Manager\Simobjects\Misc\FSDT_CYVR\texture

Assuming you installed into the default folder.

I am running P3D V4 and adding these files does not solve the grainy runways/taxiways when your lights are on. As soon as you turn the lights off the runways/taxiways are fine.
Should I do a full delete and reinstall or this problem still in the current installer version?

I'm sorry, but I can only confirm the above files will fix the problem. The current installer contains them but, of course, it won't be any different than downloading from the forum and replace them manually.

I am noticing this same problem with KDFW.  Any fix soon?
