Title: Box shadow
Post by: b757 on November 24, 2014, 11:13:47 pm
Hey everyone,

I haven't seen anyone else with this issue, but for some reason, whenever I approach the south end of DFW, there is a shadow that looks like a box on the ground. It kills my fps from 30 to about 5. If I take off from 35/36, about halfway down the runway, it goes away and fps spike up. I bought DFW soon after it came out and just recently started having issues with it. I did reinstall just a few weeks ago after building my new rig. I have only had this problem since going to P3D (I think P3D 2.3) so I am not sure if it's something to do with the sim itself. I don't know how to get rid of this problem. I have the latest add-on manager and coualt. I would appreciate anyone's help.

Could be a ground cloud shadow ? Do you have it if you turn off the option to have cloud shadows ?

Of course, the one time I go on there that I try to replicate the issue, it doesn't come up. From what I have experienced, it only happens at KDFW, not KLAS, with/without cloud shadows. I know I have issues when I start at DFW, but today I was doing BOS to DFW, and coming over the numbers on 35C is when it popped up. The whole flight I was at 30fps and then there I was at like 5.
I just tested it with default and non-default aircraft, with/without shadows and seemed to have no issue. I guess I will post again whenever I can grab a pic of it.
