Is there a way to change how AI aircraft utilize the runways at KIAH. On 98% of the days at Bush, departures will be off of the 15's and arrivals on the westerly runways. I have ultimate traffic 2 and all of the traffic seems to take place on 15/33's. This results in severe traffic jamss and go arounds and empty terminals. I am a real world pilot and operate heavily around the Houston area and have been simming since 95. I am super excited and thankful for all the work FSDT has done. If anybody can explain how to utize the other runways I would appreciate it.

That's strange... I have WOAI and so far it is simulating the runway configuration correctly. The only issue is that ATC will usually only assign them to one runway. So ALL arrivals will be on 26R, and ALL departures 15L. That isn't too big of an issue, however.

You can try aismooth. If there is conflicting traffic it will send them in a holding. It's very very simple.

Are you using what FSX defaults to for weather, or are you loading the real world weather in Houston? Does make a difference where the planes go... ;)

Neither one. Real world weather just makes planes use the runways available at the real airport. Traffic jams mean your traffic sliders are too high.

Forget FSX and FSDT for a moment. What conditions would cause KIAH to switch to a easterly operation other than wind direction and wind speed? Do you know what the wind criteria is for change?

Not an official source Michael but for Vatsim:
Runway Flows
• West Flow/Departing South (Standard Flow)
o Arrivals on Runways 26L/26R/27
o Departures on Runways 15L/15R/26L/26R
NOTE: Do not advertise Runways 26L/26R as departure runways in the ATIS
unless adverse weather requires it
• West Flow/Departing North
o Arrivals on Runways 26L/26R/27
o Departures on Runways 33L/33R
o NOTE: This configuration is for winds strongly favoring the North (greater than 20Kt)
or adverse weather
• East Flow
o Arrivals on Runways 8L/8R/9
o Departures on Runways 15L/15R/8L/8R/9
NOTE: Do not advertise Runways 8L/8R/9 as departure runways in the ATIS
unless adverse weather requires it
o NOTE: This configuration is for winds strongly favoring the East (greater than 20kt)
or adverse weather

I might create some new files to change to east flow, or 33 departures. Of course you would need to swap out the ADE file everytime the flow changes.
You can always go to Flightaware to get a good view of exactly what's going on at the airport at any given time.
Also interesting to note, at night it pretty much becomes a free-for-all (arriving 27, 08R, departing 15L, 33R, arriving 15R), as the wind usually dies down to calm by midnight. Also, past 2200 local, 26R/08L closes due to noise restrictions.
