The City of Houston was Founded in August of 1836 and incorporated on June 5, 1837 and was the temporary capital for the Republic of Texas until 1839 when Austin was chosen as the permanent location.

They actually held a very big event today to mark the occasion. UA pitched in their 78' Ship #0902 on full display, along with an ERJ, and a FedEx A300. Very cool to visit the cockpit of the 787 finally.

The ERJ cockpit was hot as hell. Now ground power or app running. ..no a/c!!! Fed-Ex was bare able. 787 had a/c at least.

Today is the 45th Birthday of Houston Intercontinental Airport. I wish I was there, I know how much the airport has changed in the past 38 years. I can not wait to see what the future has in store for KIAH!!!
