Title: GSX - sounds set-up in P3dv2
Post by: maca11 on December 27, 2013, 02:50:53 pm
Dear all,
I am currently using GSX under P3D. All seems to work well, only issues are with sound.
Firstly, I cannot set volume of sound in the cabin lower (during de-boarding, fueling, boarding....) there is a background sound which is too up. I tried to set it lower in set-up screen but no effect at all.
Secondly all other sounds - (communication with ground support) is not there at all.
Is it anything with P3dv2 or it is something else which should be corrected ?
many thanks !

JM

We noticed it, and it seems P3D treats sounds for ground vehicles differently than FSX so, the same vehicle sounds louder in P3D. It's not entirely clear if it's an intended behavior or just a bug that might be fixed.

Note that, some sounds are made by the sim itself, so you must control them using the default sound sliders, but others are controlled by GSX, so you must set their volume using the volume control in the GSX Settings.

OK, many thanks. Would it be possible to disable this background sound by removing .vaw files from folder ? But I cannot find it. Is it possible to say where it is installed ?
many thanks !

Hello Virtuali,

I realise GSX is not the cause of the problem with the sound as you mention but...............

Are you able to offer some guidance please as to which Wav file is responsible for the 'truck noise' that starts a soon as GSX is initiated?

For me at the moment GSX is unusable, the 'truck noise' is so loud it drowns out my (home) cockpit sounds.

I have disabled all vehicle noises in GSX but it persists, I have disabled all I can find in P3D. Perhaps it does not have an obvious name?

Any help gratefully received.

Thanks

Dave

Try the default SoundAI folders. It might not come from one of the GSX sounds. If it did, you would be able to control its volume with the GSX sound slider.

Virtuali,

Thanks for the reply and guidance.

The slider makes no difference to the sound.

I'll keep looking............

While I'm here, it would be good if you could direct the ground staff voices to a chosen sound card. You could then have the voices channeled through a head set. Just a thought.

Thanks

Dave

Hi,

if you like, I have attached a temporary workaround for the
ai sound issue in P3Dv2.

Put the Fakesoundai folder in:

SimObjects/Misc

and the soundai folder into every!:

SimObjects/Misc/FSDT_ folder,

except those that have a soundai folder already.

Every means also the marshaller, baggage carts etc.

Hope this helps,

regards. Gerrit
