Title: Couatl Engine Crash **SOLVED**
Post by: dreamdance on June 16, 2013, 11:22:10 pm
Hallo,

after live-update of Couatle (in FSX) i can't load with FSPassergers my saved Airplanes/Airports = FSDT.

The couatle Engine crashes and must end...  The FSDT Airports run's in trial mode .....

Three pictures follows:

((( i can't insert pictures))))

When i start a fly from any FSDT Airport (without FSP), the trail mode starts in 50% in the majority of cases.

The couatle Engine crashes before the Airport loaded.

Can you help please ....

Greetings Wolfgang

Do you mean it only happens if you use FS Passengers ?

Yes, you can. Attach them to a message. But there's no need for them. Just indicate the precise error text you see.

This is not very clear.

When you see Couatl running (you said it works 50% of the time), enable logging in the GSX Settings, restart FSX and, after it crashes, check the %APPDATA%\VIRTUALI folder for any Couatl.LOG and Couatl.ERR file. Post them both here.

You said it works 50% of the time. Is still the case ? If yes, find one of the times it's not crashing, enable logging as explained in my previous message, exit from FSX, start it again, and then check the log files have been produced.

I reset my computer and start the FSX ..
The start screen is running, no log file is in Appdata,  now i choose the airport KJFK with the PMDG 738,  the airport is loading and than Couatl Engine in
crashes, in Appdate no log or err file..... ,  the airport runs in trail mode...

Now i close FSX ... no log or err file in Appdata....   Grrrr.....

Please, read again my previous message CAREFULLY:

i have 4 x started the FSX (one time with FSP) and all was OK (the airplane are defaults and form PMDG, but the airport was not
KJFK, i choose  KLAX and CYVR and it is running)  (in AppData no log or err)
i will start it in KJFK, please wait .....

by choose in FSX the airport to KJFK the couatl. engine crashes ....  it's no log or err File

As I've said, when you have the Couatl program running, do this:

1) Enable logging in the GSX Settings

2) EXIT from FSX

3) Restart FSX

4) Go to the airport that crashed (JFK ?)

5) Let it crash

6) Exit from FSX and check the logs.

If you do all of this, is not possible you won't see logs because, at least the Couatl.LOG file is created when FSX starts so, if it's true that is crashing ONLY if you go to JFK, you should at least see the Couatl.LOG file that was created when FSX started BEFORE it crashed.

1) i start FSX with PMDG 738 in CYVR (all is running OK)
i run GSX Settings and save
2) exit from FSX

3/4) Restart FSX will default airplane (MS A320) in JFK

5) couatl is crashed when i choose JFK .... in start screen

6) exit from FSX and checked in AppData/Roaming =  n o   log or err File ....

""If you do all of this, is not possible you won't see logs because, at least the Couatl.LOG file is created when FSX starts so, if it's true that is crashing ONLY if you go to JFK, you should at least see the Couatl.LOG file that was created when FSX started BEFORE it crashed.""

it's crashing 5 - 7 seconds after i choose KJFK ....   and every logs or err files not in path ....

3/4) Restart FSX will default airplane (MS A320) in JFK

Try to go to start FSX at CYVR, and then move to JFK, and check if you have the log files.

Also, try to download and install the Stand-Alone Addon Manager AFTER everything else (with everything installed)

the FSX is running in start screen and no log File....

now i choose KLAX, and not log File is in AppDate, only the couatl.addon.ini is changed ...

I'm sorry, but this is plain NOT POSSIBLE:

IF you enabled logging AND exit from FSX

AND

IF you restart FSX from an airport that doesn't crash and you HAVE the Couatl running with its menu still visible...the Log files WILL be created, there's no doubt about this.

""Try to go to start FSX at CYVR, and then move to JFK, and check if you have the log files.""

Hello,

i had re-installed the addon-Manager, but the result is the same,  KLAS, KLAX, CYVR = all is OK - no crash,  also loading from
FSPassengers....

.. but the JFK is the problem...., couatl crashes at start-screen ...  the airport is running in trail mode

.... a n d ..... anyway i have no  log  or  err file   (i use GSX trail for the FSDT Airports...)  only the couatlAddons.ini is changed....

Sorry, here in Germany it's 2:00 in night, i'm tired and now i have only 4 hours for sleeping....  good night, still 17.06. evening....

Wolfgang

Hallo,

yesterday I re-installed the Addon-Manager and the Manager reportet after install:

"There was a problem updating some sceneries, please try again later"

The first step I done today:

changed the COUATL.INI (AppData) from

LogFile=""   to

LogFile=couatl.log

Now I find a LOG File not in AppDate, but find it in FSX/FSDreamteam/couatl

The couatl.log file follows as couatl.txt  (.log file types not allowed)
