Title: GSx pusk back
Post by: ramoucho on January 16, 2013, 11:29:43 am
Hy there,

at some airports, default or payware or payware like, free version, I have noticed that the push back were only operated straight on a few meters only.
It seems that it's due to a bad AFCAD construction or not fully compatible with GSX operations.

I tried to compare the AFCAD with ADE tool, a parking position where the push back is working and one where is not working, but I can't see any differences with the taxiway lines.

Someone has ideas to sort out this kind of misfonction?

Thanks in advance.

Ramoucho.

Difficult to say without checking the AFCAD but, sometimes we've seen overlapping nodes, which might not be easy to spot at a first sight.

could you tell more about overlapping nodes? how to detect it?

By moving a node in ADE, if there are two overlapped in the same place, it would be fairly obvious.

oK, I sorted it out.
On the AFCAD, between taxiway and parking spot, there is a middle point, and their is a taxiway path between the taxiway and the parking spot AND a taxiway between this middle point and the parking spot.
When pushing back, GSX stopoed the plane at the middle point  ::)
So I deleted this middle point and push back works like a charm.
What is curious, is at the gate push back worked there was the same kind of taxiway but GSX ignore the middle point. Don't know why.

By searching on this, I have improved my skills in Afcad edition...

Thanks!
