When I install and activate GSX, FSX crashes on start up. Windows event viewer says it is due to gd3.dll error. When I uninstall GSX everything works fine and i dont have a problem with my other FSDT softwares.
HELP!
Thanks

Do you have FSUIPC installed? Even with the free version it has a fix that tries to catch g3d.dll errors. This may help.

I did on my old install. I did a clean install of FSX to see if my theory was correct. The kicker is, I cannot access FSUIPC website. I click to go download and get a error. I have tried with multiple browsers and nothing. Suggestions???

hi,
i have been running GSX without problems (full version).
when starting FSX i was advised that a new addon manager is available so i went ahead and installed it (today). ever since i have the same problem.
i don't think that GSX itself is the problem but the standalone addon manager is. FSX will crash on loadup before the main screen.
hopefully someone can help!
Denis
edit: i can uninstall it and FSX will launch but now my FSDT airports aren't working anymore...
edit2: i installed the current fsuipc and all is well again!

Just installed FSUIPC and still get the error from installing GSX

That means you simply got a G3D.DLL error that FSUIPC can't catch but, that's not caused by GSX. It's likely a problem with your video driver, an FSX setting or tweak that shouldn't be applied.
You are mislead thinking it's caused by GSX, because it seems to go away if you remove it but, that doesn't mean GSX is the cause, it's just you don't have any other object/sceneries/airplanes that use/need some otherwise absolutely normal and standard graphic features that not so many addons use (but GSX does, like vertex shaders) that are not working correctly either because of a video driver problem or an FSX tweak that shouldn't be set on your system. So, GSX is not the cause, is the victim of this.
- First try to reset your video driver settings to default. Be sure you don't use "Transparency Antialiasing" (or "Adaptive Anti-aliasing" ).
- If that doesn't work, try to update your video driver too.
- If that doesn't work, try to reset your %APPDATA%\Microsoft\FSX\FSX.CFG file, to have FSX rebuild a new one with default settings
- Be sure you have the "Advanced Animation" option enabled in FSX Graphic Settings.
- Be sure you apply the HIGHMEMFIX tweak to the FSX.CFG, you can enabled it with the Addon Manager too.

Everything works now that i have FSUIPC and Stand Alone manager installed. But Some vehicules such as the passenger bus and luggage truck are invisible. You can see the driver but not the textures.

Same reply as above. Video driver issue and/or fsx.cfg problem. Try the same solutions posted above.

Have the same problem. After installing GSX the problems started. Before fsX was running perfect.
I tried all steps reset video card, updates all drivers,Adv animations etc.
Maybe dreamteam has to tell me what are right settings and wich add onn causes the problem.

First, be sure you are using:
- The most recent version of FSUIPC
AND
- The most recent version of GSX. If you are not entirely sure, download it now. Or, at least, download the Stand-Alone Addon Manager for FSX and install it after everything else.
