Title: Random baggage & stairs
Post by: mortonrb on November 25, 2012, 03:00:17 am
When random baggage and stairs are used, it would be nice if they were consistency, instead of for example United Stairs at front door and Delta Stairs at the back door and the baggage handlers are different as well.

The program is specifically programmed in a way that once an operator is chosen, it stays the same for all vehicles.

Are you sure you are using the current version ? It was a fix which was added later, but it has been a while since we made it.

Live update indicates I have the latest version.   It is the full purchased copy.

I can only confirm the problem shouldn't happen and of course there's no difference between trial or purchased version since the installer and all files are exactly the same.

Please indicate a reproducible case of airport, airplane and gate used, and which multiple operators showed up. Note that, having different operators for catering and the rest of vehicles is normal, because catering operators are separate for operators that handle services at gates.

Of course it is not happening now.    I will keep an eye on it, and if it happens again, I will document along with screen shots.

Thanks

I can attest to this interesting phenomenon. The attached screenshot was taken in the West Parking area of Blueprint's KIND. A British Airways charter is being serviced by ...

The DPE/LD2 units are also interesting. The front hold SkyWest-labeled units, while the rear hold contains LD2's from Allegiant. Neither airline flies B767s, so it would be very strange to see these ULD's.

Any ideas on this one?

it hasn't happened to me yet.

Do you have an example of an airport/airplane combination that results in mixed services every time ?

I did some further tests.   I can duplicate over and over at RJAA.   Used Cargo 307.   I also did tests at KIND Cargo 31 like the other user.   Same problem.   At RJAA using a A300-600, first test stairs all ANA, baggage tractors ANA and JAL,  next test stairs ANA and JAL, same for baggage tractors.   AFCAD for RJAA is from Ray Smith.

Doesn't happen here, using default AFCAD and default A321. When ANA arrives, it's all ANA, and when JAL arrives, it's all JAL.

Does it happen to you with a default airplane using the default configuration that comes with GSX ( use the Reset button in the airplane configuration editor to be sure it's default ) ?

This evening I will will remove the RS AFCAD and perform the test you mentioned.    During my current tests, I would request fuel, see who shows up, reset GSX, and request again.    Performed this over and over getting different conditions every time.    I do not use default aircraft, but I will do your tests with default B737 and B747 and report back to you.

I performed the test as requested.  Default aircraft with default stock RJAA.    GSX works as expected.    Repeated test with Ray Smith's RJAA which is giving differences.  i have attached pdf of results.

It would seem to me that the AFCAD for RJTT that I use may have exposed a logic path which allows the condition of mixed services to appear.  Given the number of AFCADs updated by very talented people that we all use, I would appreciate it if you could try and use this AFCAD to see if you can duplicate the problem.

Any thoughts on this issue?

Any thoughts on this issue?

We found the issue, the fixed selection works if parking has at least one atc_parking_codes that matches the vehicle codes OR if there's no parking codes at all (like in all default airports), but then the selection goes back to random if there are some parking codes, but none matches the vehicle. It's surely a bug, and we'll fix it in the next update.
