The APU system has been introduced with FSX but every 3rd party airplane developer already made its own systems and many have their own vehicles too, so there isn't a standard way to use it and will have to be disabled for those airplanes that have their own, so it wouldn't be very usable, except for the few airplanes that use the FSX APU system.
