It all worked fine. Now when I start up fsx I get a warning about BGLManx being a bad peice of software. I've re-installed KORD, LSZH, and the Addon Manager X, no luck.
If I hit no FSX runs fine but the scenery has no buildings, like the demo expired. If I hit yet, a problem has occured and FSX has to close.
-
Do not uninstall the scenery.
Try to install the Stand Alone Addon Manager for FSX found here:
http://www.virtualisoftware.com/binaries/setup_addonmanagerX.exe
If still doesn't work, go to control panel, Uninstall the Addon Manager (found under "Virtuali Addon Manager", do not uninstall the scenery), then reinstall it. Never uninstall the scenery.
-
Didn't work sadly.
-
Try this:
manually remove
bglmanx.dll
bglmanx.dat
bglmanx_aerosoft.dat
bglmanx_fsdt.dat
from the FSX root folder, then reinstall the Addon Manager.
And, please note, the current version only works with FSX+SP2 or FSX+Acceleration. If you have FSX+SP1, it will not work.
-
I have acceleration with you're wonderful hornet. As for now, I'm over a different house receiving my Saitek Pro Flight Yoke. Will try ASAP.
-
I have experienced the same problem. I have tried your sugested fixes and still to no avail - I get the same error mesage when I start FSX.
If it helps I am reinstalling the airport on a newly purchased computer. I run on VISTA 64 bit operating system. All of my other addons, including my downloaded add-ons have re-installed sucessfully, save for this one. I don't think this is a VISTA permissions since the add-on manager installs on my hard drive. Any help? I want to fly into Zurich and Chicago again.
-
I just tried it also, no luck.
-
Ragriz,
I confirm that, if you follow exactly what I've said, manually remove the bglmanx* files first (all of them), then reinstalling the latest Addon Manager (re-download it, it in doubt) will work.
About Vista 64, it's a different issue. The program is compatible with Vista 64, but it might be you need to turn of UAC (normally it should not matter, but sometimes this fixes the problem).
However, we had an update in the works, that should hopefully clears up any confusion about bglmanx* files versioning, because it will always download the very latest version online.
You can try it here:
http://www.virtualisoftware.com/binaries/setup_addonmanagerX.exe
-
Did not work yet again, I have now uninstalled the Addon Manager, KORD, LSZH, and Greystone X via the unis001 etc.
-
The last suggestion worked. Thank you.
-
Hi Ragriz,
Since the latest Addon Manager fixed the issue for KSaunders, I would like to have a look at your DLL.XML file, to see which other modules you have installed. Maybe there's a conflict with something else we don't know yet.
Go to your %APPDATA%\Microsoft\FSX folder, open DLL.XML with notepad, and copy its content here, or send me a PM or an email with that file attached.

Assuming you are using the very latest version, you should first try disabling all modules (put <Disabled>True</Disabled> on each one) except the Addon Manager, and see if it works. If it does, turn on each module one by one and see which one is in conflict.
-
I do have the latest version of the addon manager. Sorry I fogot to mention that.
When I load fsx, I get two errors, one for the addon manager and the other for Fsuipc. Before I had all of these error messages, Fsuipc worked just fine, so when I got all of the error messages I reinstalled both and for the addon manager I did what you said to do which is remove those 4 files, then reinstall. After all of that I still get the error messages
I have the ord scenery v1.1
Greystone
and Cloud9 mco 1.1.
Once I installed mco and ord the addon manager worked just fine, but everything went wrong when I installed the Greystone scenery.
I will try what you said to do and report back.
-
You are probably not using the latest version of the Addon Manager, please download the latest one that can be found in the Stand-Alone installer, that one that always downloads the latest version of the dll from the internet, and try again.
-
Where do I download the latest version?? I downloaded the ones that were in this topic, but idk if that is the latest version or not.
-
Please, read carefully what I've wrote: the latest version of the Addon Manager has an installer that automatically downloads the latest version of the dll from the internet as soon at it starts.
So, you need to download the latest Addon Manager Standalone installer, that can be found under the O'Hare page (there's a link on the left to download the Stand Alone Addon Manager installer).
Just run the installer, check that is downloading some files from the internet as soon as it starts, then you are sure you have the latest version.
-
No more errors for the addon manager. Now just for fsuipc. What should I do? reinstall fsuipc? I have the latest one which 4.30
-
No idea. We don't use FSUIPC for our sceneries, and shouldn't be affect by it anyway.
-
Odd, because it worked perfectly before I started installing scenerys that used tha addon manager.
-
I guess most of the users have FSUIPC installed, yet nobody reported problems before. As I've said, we don't use or call FSUIPC in any way.
-
So no further suggestions? I need fsuipc for my ai separation to work.
-
You might try changing the order of execution, by rearranging the addon sections in the DLL.XML file. If FSUIPC is loaded before Addon Manager, try loading it after, or vice versa.
Other than that, if what you are seeing is an FSUIPC error, why not reporting it to Pete Dowson's forum ?
-
I got it working. It was a problem with the newest version of the program. I went back to 4.28 and everthing is just fine.
-
Hey VirtualI, this only happens to me when I install KORD. I've just reinstalled because I wanted to see if I could use your fantastic Zurich and it works perfectly. Installed KORD and it went good bye. Any thoughts?

First,
First, have you tried installing the Stand-Alone Addon Manager ? This is always the very latest version, without the need to download the whole Zurich or O'Hare installers again.
Also, the previous poster said the startup problem was caused by FSUIPC and was solved by going to the previous version. Maybe there is a problem with the latest FSUIPC version, could you please set it to <Disabled>True</Disabled> in the DLL.XML and see if it works now ?
The same might be worth trying with every other addon module. By disabling each one (one by one, launching FSX each time), one can easily identify possible conflicts.
-
Its not FSUIPC, and I always install the stand alone manager by itself. I will try disabling DBS WAF, I think that may be the issue.
-
I've used the FSUIPC example, just because *another* user said that he solved the issue with a different version so, you might have had the same problem.
However, after your message, I've tried myself installing the latest FSUIPC, and I confirm there are no issues if used together with our Addon Manager, so it must be something else in your case.
-
I can confirm I have the same issue.
After installing ORD I now get the error and if I say yes it CTD.
Here below is my dll.xml and my scenery cfg out of the main FSX folder. I dont have one in the appdata\microsoft\fsx folder.
I run Vista 32 and do not have any other scenery addons installed yet for FSX.

As I've said, never mind if it doesn't work the first time. Try a reboot, launch FSX, if you see the error, allow it to run, exit and try again. It will disappear.

This problem doens't have antything to do with scenery.cfg. And, anyway, the scenery.cfg is NOT in the %APPDATA%\Microsoft\FSX folder, but is inside %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Microsoft\FSX. But is not needed anyway.
I run Vista 32 and do not have any other scenery addons installed yet for FSX.
As your dll.xml clearly shows, you have several modules installed. It's the modules that can create this kind of conflicts. However, for the solution, see above.
If you still see the error, try disabling the antivirus OR (better) try excluding the FSX main folder from scanning. And, after having done this, reinstall the Addon Manager, because your antivirus MIGHT have blocked it at install time, so you don't have the correct version yet.

I understand and I would have not posted here if I had not already tried it a few times.
But after reading your post I DID try it once more, got the error, allowed it to run, CTD. I rebooted, tried it again, same result.

My free copy of macafee ran out and I uninstalled it long ago. I have NO antivirus software currently (stupid I know). But I went into control panel, made sure windows defender was disabled, and windows firewall disabled. I then re downloaded the latest addon manager and ran that. I got the newest versions of the software.
Upon starting FSX same error, I said yes. CTD. I rebooted, re ran FSX, CTD again.
I understand your frustrated from having to deal with this issue as every machine is different, trust me I know I work over at LDS and we had the same issues with FSX/vista..etc.
Please if you ave ANY ideas I am open to try anything and help you and I solve this issue, which may in turn help others.
-
Please if you ave ANY ideas I am open to try anything and help you and I solve this issue, which may in turn help others.
Try this:
- open FSX.CFG (found under %APPDATA%\Microsoft\FSX ), search for all the lines that contains a reference to bglmanx.dll, DELETE every line that has one. Save the file.
- delete from the FSX main folder all the files that starts with bglmanx* (there should be 1 .dll and 3 .dat)
- reboot
- reinstall the Addon Manager, check is downloading these files when the installation starts.
- launch FSX, check that is asking you to trust the module, trust the module, and see if it works. As usual, try it at least twice.
-
Man I tried everything you mentioned 3 times now. Still same issue..
if it helps at all here is the error FSX produces on the details.

Can you try disabling all other modules in DLL.XML, and leave just the Addon Manager on ?
-
yea I disabled every addon in dll.xml except addon manager, still same problem.
Oh well I guess this one is just a mystery vista/FSX problem.
