Title: New User Help needed please
Post by: sbish149 on May 01, 2012, 10:52:40 pm
Hi,

I am having probs with the fuel truck and follow me car, only see the windshields.
I have rebuilt fscfg file
I have added highmemfix=1
I have reset default settings in gpu
I have advanced animations on in fsx

The program looks pretty cool so i would love to have it on my systym.

I understand this has been discussed many times and not a program fault but is
there anything else i can try on my systym.

Regards

Steve

Try to switch between DX9 and DX10 on FSX, see if it makes any difference. Also, be sure you have the Transparency Antialiasing (or Adaptive Antialiasing ) turned off.

After a few more tests it seems on my sytem,

GSX works only when DX10 preview is ticked in fsx.

If i untick dx10 I lose the textures on objects again in gsx.

From my understanding dx10 is not a complete product in fsx and is not compatible with
ivao etc so my question is,

What is DX10 doing that dx9 isnt doing to run GSX perfectly as i think
I would rather stay with dx9.

Thanks for your help

We haven't optimized GSX in DX10, we all test it with DX9, which is what most users use anyway. The problem is not GSX, but your video driver that apparently has a bug that manifests only in DX9 mode.

Can anyone who uses nvidea advise of a driver that does not have a bug in dx9 mode?

I want to part with my cash for gsx  ;D

I just rolled back to driver 295.73 which a friend of mine uses with same operating system, same gpu as mine and he runs gsx fine in dx9 with this driver.

It  still does not work for me even with that driver, i have now tried 4 other nvidea drivers with the same result.

Are you sure it cant be anything else?

Please reply

If you have some tweak in your Windows registry that your friend doesn't have, it's possible they behave differently, try to remove the driver and reinstall it with a driver cleaner utility.

The only thing sure, it's nothing related to GSX, fact that it works fine in DX10 mode clearly proves it, because we never tested it with DX10, although any object made in fully compliance with the FSX SDK, should work with both. It's usually DX10 that gives most of the problems, so this is surely a video driver issue.
