Title: F-18 Hornet Mission Pack
Post by: skyking on May 20, 2008, 07:58:09 pm
Has anyone tryed to use F-18 Hornet Mission Pack with FSX with no luck?  Having problems, wont display all AWAC planes available plus can only turn Left when flying.   Once I loaded the program I lost my F-18 cag plane?  If anyone has any experience or advise please feel free to send it my way.

I'm a total beginner at this Flight Sims.

Thank You

Title: Re: F-18 Hornet Mission Pack (Warning: it overwrites the 'aircraft.cfg' file)

WARNING.........................................WARNING....................................................WARNING........................................WARNING.................WARNING

Any changes  to the 'aircraft.cfg' file will be lost.

The install program assumes a unaltered configuration file. I writes a new copy of the '.cfg' file which will erase any changes.

I had installed the tiger liveries (thank you reider) and Flares I and II (thanks Intrepid ) and then downloaded and installed the sampler.
My new planes were gone and I had smoke instead of flares.

With a new file there should be no problem. And with, a copy of the previous '.cfg' file, reinstalling any changes is an upper level beginner project. The post about the 'Tiger Liveries' will show you how to fix it.

My adventure is recorded here.

I am having fun.
Mission one:  "Flying Tight" is new to me.and I am learning how much I don't know. It is much different
Mission two:  All I have managed to do so far is to crash my wounded plane, after doing none of the required tactics.
Waiting to see if I am going to buy. Who wants to take  point?

I downloaded that pack about a onth ago and I can only fly the mission around the airstrip and when you have engine trouble. But it gave me 4 CAF missions and 2 Navy missions. So why won't the other 4 work if they gave them to me. :(
Title: Re: F-18 Hornet Mission Pack: Any recent Intel on this product?

Has anyone purchased and installed this package?
Has anyone had any contact with the  company about this product?
A scouting report would be appreciated.

I am tempted to buy these misssions , but find the text at the site confusing.

It mentions other products, CaptainSim jet for example, and I would like to know if you need to buy other planes to make the other missions work.

Information about ease of installation, ect. would help me decide.

Any changes  to the 'aircraft.cfg' file will be lost.

The install program assumes a new unaltered configuration file. I writes a new copy of the '.cfg' which is like a new file  with it's plane added in.

Happyflier;
You are welcome for the flares change
Thanks for the heads up on the CFG file change I just backed up what i already had and
cut and pasted the older cfg back into its place,
I did mess up my Tiger liverie though, ::) took me a little to straighten it out,all is well now
If you re having trouble getting the flares back let me know ,,I well be glad to help
