Title: Buildings gone at all airports

I'm missing all the buildings at all of my airports that use the addon manager. I remember this happened w/ KSFO 2.0

The problem happened with KSFO can't happen anymore with the current Addon Manager version (it was a bug we discovered when KSFO was released)

The usual question: do you have the Addon Manager AND the Couatl powered menus under Addons ?

Have you installed KLAX as the last scenery OR have you installed the *current* version of the Addon Manager after installing the FSDT sceneries ?

I just purchased both KSFO and KLAX and have this issue (Buildings gone at all airports.)

My Couatl error log in AppDatta just says this:

I'm using the old Addon Manager from years ago; haven't updated that thing recently. I wonder if it could be a factor?

The error log shows you probably have a mix of old and new files, which can't happen if you installed KLAX, which of course come with current versions of Addon Manager, Couatl and everything else needed.

It's likely you have installed something older after KLAX, in this case you need to either reinstall KLAX OR download the current Stand-Alone Addon Manager and install it as the last thing you do.

I seem to have fixed it simply by changing AntiPopUp from 1 to 30 in the Virtuali Addon Manager (V 2.8.0.7) - Buildings are back at all airports.

As an aside, the last thing I did before encountering the problem was in fact installing KLAX then KSFO, then purchasing/registering them both simultaneously. Though that seems to be fixed now.

Edit: Nevermind, that in fact did not solve the problem for FSDT airports. I thought it was, but it wasn't for LAX/LAS/ORD/etc. I'll keep troubleshooting.

That can't have an effect on this, the Antipop-up value surely can't create or fix a problem with the running python programs, as your log shows. Note the date/times of the errors, depending on your time zone, you might have an idea when they happened, perhaps you had a mixup of version at that time, that you fixed later, but surely it couldn't be the Anti-popup setting, especially considering it's an Addon Manager-only setting that is not shared by Couatl, and you had Couatl errors in the log.

You're right. I was moving so quickly when I started SFO and saw a building in front of me I assumed I had got things to work; That wasn't quite the case. Like you're suggesting, modifying AntiPopUp didn't fix the issue. Sorry about jumping the gun, I put an edit in my above post so people with the same problem who read through the thread don't get the wrong idea from my post.

I'm reinstalling LAX now to see if updating to the current versions of Addon Manager, Couatl, and everything else will do the trick. Expect an edit on the success/fail of that within the next few minutes.

Edit: No Dice. After installing LAX once more I get a windows error that states: "Windows has found a problem with this program: Couatl.exe" No buildings show in FSX.

This is more likely caused by your antivirus that is mistakenly blocking the program thinking it's a threat, and has likely corrupted trying to "heal" it.

The first solution to try is this one:

- Uninstall the scenery. Reply YES when asked if you want to remove the Addon Manager and the Couatl Engine. Reply YES to both questions.

- TURN OFF your antivirus. Don't just exit from its interface, but turn off the real time protection. Actual wording changes between products, however, it's the option to scan every file that gets open in real time, without user intervention.

- Reinstall the sceneries with the Antivirus TURNED OFF. Don't launch FSX yet.

- Configure the antivirus to exclude the following files from scanning:

YourFSXFolder\bglmanx.dll
YourFSXFolder\fsdreamteam\Couatl\couatl.exe

YourFSXFolder it's usually C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X, if you installed it in the default folder.

- Now you can turn the antivirus back on, and launch FSX.

- Check you are seeing BOTH the "Addon Manager" menu AND the "Couatl powered products" menu under the "Addons" menu.

This time it did work, for both KSFO and KLAX (And LAS/ORD). I see Terminal Buildings at all my FSDT airports.

Thank you for the timely support. It's 2AM here yet I managed to create an account, get that account approved, get back-and-forth support, and fix my underlying issues in under an hour. That's what I call Customer Service. Much appreciated.  ;)

I have the same problem ! I tried now several times the above procedure without succes. I even deinstalled som other scenerys like SFO and KLAS etc. I also stopped in total my antivirus (Kaspersky).

I need some help otherwise i ask for refund - i have spent now more then two hours to solve this things

There are several issues discussed here so, what do you mean with "I have the same problem" ?

You just don't see buildings, our you have the error which you quoted above "Windows has found a problem with this program: Couatl.exe" ?

I see no buildings - only the jetways as described above. Meanwhile I have the same problem in KSFO after my trie to reinstall it. It must have to do with the addon manager

The usual questions: Do you have the "Addon Manager" AND the "Couatl powered product" menus under FSX ?

Have you been asked to trust them after you reinstalled the scenery AFTER having uninstalled replying YES when asked if you want to remove the Addon Manager and the Couatl Engine ?

Have you tried installing KLAX as the LAST scenery ?

Yes i did all these things but still no success.
I use flightsims more then 10 years and I understand very well, that you must protect your software against the damm pirates. But on the other hand i never had such problems with other producers. Noe all your sceneries and KSFO are not working (only jetways are visibel).

What can I do else now ?

Yes i did all these things but still no success.

You still haven't replied to my questions:

1) do you have BOTH the Addon Manager AND the Couatl menus inside FSX ? Just one (which one), both of them, or none at all ?

2) Have you been asked to trust them after you reinstalled the scenery AFTER having uninstalled replying YES when asked if you want to remove the Addon Manager and the Couatl Engine ?

My antivirus programm is Kaspersky 2012 and I set the whole FSX folder off for scanning. Additional I stopped the whole antivirus programm and the reinstalled KLAX as in 1) and 2) described. No success

Since you are seeing both menus, it means the programs are running, so the antivirus is not an issue, otherwise you wouldn't see any menu.

Open the Notepad and type the following on a new blank file:

logFile=couatl.log

(please note logFile is written beginning with a lower case l and a capital F )

Save the file as couatl.ini in the FSX\fsdreamteam\couatl folder, so it stays at the same level of the couatl.exe

Run FSX, go to KLAX, wait a bit, then quit FSX.

Check if you have a couatl.log file in the FSX\fsdreamteam\couatl folder and post its content here.

Problem is resolved ! IT WAS MY FAULT - EXCUSE ME

As you can see in my fsx.config i have send some simobjects to my 4 GB Ramdisk for better Performance. This Ram disk is using a image from the simoject folder. After installation of KLAX i did not refresh this image.

Ok, a look at the log, and another look at your fsx.cfg solved the issue.

EVERYTHING IS WORKING, from our side, but you have moved your Simobject folders outside the FSX folder into the H: drive. This won't work with any of our sceneries, the Simobjects needs to stay in the FSX default folder.

AT LEAST, if you don't want to move back all the Simobjects folder, restore the correct location for the Simobjects\Misc folder in the FSX.CFG

No, you have an entirely different problem. Bernhard problem was due because he moved all the Simobject folders outside FSX.

KLAX doesn't have any loading problems, your issues seems to be that you have installed another older scenery after KLAX. If you do this, as explained in other threads, you need to download and install the latest Stand-Alone Addon Manager for FSX OR Reinstall KLAX.

Whenever there have issues like this, as a first solution, always try to download and install the latest Stand-Alone Addon Manager as the last step you do.

I installed the latest Stand-Alone Manager (Stupid me, I thought I had the latest version, but obviously not.  ;)) and that fixed the issue.
