"Vertical Flight Productions have just released their first mission entitled the "Blue Angels Challenge". You fly as part of the Blue Angels Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron! Using new innovative methods of mission development Vertical Flight Productions is ready to bring you an experience never thought possible in Microsoft Flight Simulator. Get ready to fly an F/A-18 Blue Angel Hornet in an all-out virtual Blue Angels performance in Pensacola, FL! Using actual dialog and audio found in their shows and precision recorded formation flying, you fly as the slot pilot in the number 4 position. Every move you make is being graded by an external application. Every gear you raise and "smoke on" action you do is tracked. It brings flight simulation to a whole new level of interactivity. After taking off perform the Diamond Aileron Roll, Diamond Loop, Vertical Break and Diamond Pitch up Break to Land. Visit the Vertical Flight Productions Homepage to see the Video and more details. Hmm....interesting..... ;D

Its one way to get people to pay for missions. Found myself losing points for trying to fly 18"'s from lead. Audio is only used for the narration portion, the designer filling in for the Boss calls. Need to see the "Vertical Break" performed by your guys Jimi.

Has anyone tried this free F/A-18 mission, "FSX Get the Bogey!" ? I saw it on AVSIM.
File Description:
Take off in a F/A-18 Hornet from an aircraft carrier, intercept an unresponsive intruder aircraft, escort it to a nearby AFB, meet with a KC-135 tanker plane, refuel in flight, return to the carrier and land safely. - This mission requires the Acceleration expansion pack. In addition you will have to install one additional aircraft (a KC-135 tanker plane: http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=147793), Javier Fernandez' carrier package (http://flightsimulatorxworld.com/downloads/USS_NIMITZ_IKE.rar) and a small utility called SimVar.exe (included).

Yeah it pretty fun. Great concept for a training mission. The comms are not quite accurate, but good enough. Great "TOP GUN" opening scene. Uses Sludge's KC-135T for the AAR. I had a few issues getting it to flow correctly all the time, a few triggers didn't turn on.

Tried it out last night, pretty fun! Didn't finish do to bingo fuel. Also made some mods to the mission, I switched out the default F/A-18 with the VFA-143 Sludge Hornet, the one I normally fly, and the 747 (Bogey) with a TU-95 Bear.
I agree the comm's add something but are not correct, starting at the catapult (way too many comms), also "wet feet" ::) that made me laugh, it should be "feet wet".
The one major issue I had was fuel burn, the mission requires a full afterburn scramble to the bogey and then a lengthy escort, by the time I got the bogey to the AFB, I was well below bingo at 1.7, and had no chance of making it to the tanker 60NM away, so I just landed at the base.
How was your fuel situation Victory?

Still somewhat new to FSX missions, but getting together some resources to make my own very accurate. That being said, I recently figured out how to change airframes in the mission file. I flew this mission stock with the base model Bug. No issues with fuel and set up a 1.5 bingo to get me back to Patrick AFB if needed. I initially had to the restart the Simvar program a few times for all triggers/audio to work, and yes I noticed the "wet feet" call! I would like to check out the tanker fuel trigger and see if I can "tighten" the box up.

Two questions. What is best procedure to change the aircraft to the sludge model and can this be set up for multiplayer?

Multiplayer, no, unless Joey makes an entirely new mission.
