Title: Question on Piper J-3
Post by: javelin1946 on March 06, 2008, 02:20:11 am
Can anyone inform me as to why when your flying say for instance the Piper J-3,  you must be seated in the rear seat.   I remember seeing old movies where the pilot flew from the rear seat too.  Thanks.

I believe it has to do with weight & balance. If you're in the forward section, maybe the forward will be too nose heavy and the plane will tip forward?
