Title: Shimmering Trees at Approach End of 31R
Post by: pcubine on February 19, 2011, 07:55:26 am
Does anyone know how I can stop the shimmering or just get rid of the trees?

Thank you

Download (and Unzip) the attached file, and put it into the fsdreamteam\jfk\texture folder.

A lot of trees flashing at JFK. I downloaded and extracted the file above (a white file when extracted?). I pasted it in the JFK folder...building still flash. Please help.

What do you mean with "white file" ? The zip file contains a file named trees.dds, you can't see it unless you have a proper viewer for .dds files.

This because it shouldn't be pasted into the jfk folder but, as the previous message says, in the fsdreamteam\jfk\TEXTURE folder.

One thing....the problem gets corrected after I copy the "trees" file but I have to do it every time I have a different plane. Is this the norm? In other words, problem was fixed Sunday but when I tried to fly today, it happened again. So the problem keeps coming back.

The problem is fixed with that file. It can't obviously reappear by itself, the file doesn't change...so it's more likely a problem of your video settings.
