sup guys
im just posting here because im desperated, and i know that this forum is about the hornet, well not general subject, but many of you know the hornet, so here it goes
im modeling a f-18 hornet (see WIP here: http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=43&t=934286 (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=43&t=934286)) and i need pictures of the "hole" where the air brake fits in. i can find quite a few pics of the air break up, but absolutely none of its hole. ive been through aircraft resource center website, saw like 30 walkaraounds, but none show pictures of it, also google, and major search engines. so if anyone have any pics of it, or can show me the path, i'd appreciate
thanks in advance!

NATOPS is always a good reference for some items but not always sure if any NATOPS Drawings are 100% accurate in detail - I'll look for a graphic. All the Hornet NATOPS for free download here:

nice, lots of precious information in there! thanks mate
but unfortunately, no drawings for the speedbrake
i'll keep searching, let me know if you find anything :)

Another route you might consider is referencing a model. Hasegawa makes a super-detailed Hornet and I'd be willing to put money that their board bay is accurate. http://www.luckymodel.com/scale.aspx?item_no=HSG%2007203 Just an idea.

yeah micro, ive considered that, but i really need photos, as im going to texturize, and model even the smaller parts, that a scale model, even the most accurate, wont reproduce, like piston joint details etc.
thanks mate

i dont have FSX installed right now, so maybe someone could take a screenshot of the fsx hornet's airbrake deployed? from top-behind, appearing the hole thing, please!
if possible, zoomed, good resolution :)
probably captain sim guys had some references to make that.
thanks in advance

Looks like they just made a hole in the shape of the board. Not detailed at all.

yeah, i noticed the same when i installed fsx.
looks like they didnt have references aswell lol
guess ill have to make up something
