Title: GSX for MSFS (2020) now Unicode-enabled?
Post by: flare_alfred on November 01, 2025, 05:25:36 pm
In a previous thread, I asked about the issue of sound not playing and changes to settings not being applied.

The conclusion was that this was due to a non-Unicode application and that it would be fixed in the next update, but quite a bit of time has passed since my original post.

Has all GSX for MSFS (2020) now been converted to Unicode?

Or are they still non-Unicode?

I uninstalled and reinstalled everything yesterday, but the symptoms persisted - sound still wouldn't play and changes to settings weren't applied.

Has all GSX for MSFS (2020) now been converted to Unicode?

For the most part it has, when we moved from Python 2 to Python 3 engine (Python 3 is 100% unicode), but it's difficult for us to test if there might be other areas affected by non-unicode compatibility without a proper report with a diagnostic log.

How can I obtain the logs?

Reading the manual in the Troubleshooting section, which explains how to enable logging and where the log can be found.
