Title: Wrong fueltruck type
Post by: flyseven on June 05, 2025, 06:55:42 am
Try again to bring to attention that for smaller jets like CRJ or
turboprops like ATR and TBM a small avgas truck showes up
instead of a the bigger jetfuel Truck !!

Why you think that truck is "wrong" ? Fuel trucks are chosen depending by:

- the airplane max fuel quantity. A larger tanker won't be send if the airplane max fuel capacity fits a smaller fuel truck

- the height of refueling point under the wing.

Ciao Umberto
The small truck showing up in GSX contains AVGAS
needed for all piston engine driven aircraft. For turbine/jet
engine driven aircraft jetfuel is needed.
Believe me, I fly since over 35 years turboprop, jet and piston
driven aircraft : If jetfuel is needed the bigger truck will show
up regardless of aircraft size and wing height

Amended: there are newer piston driven small aircraft
With new engine type that need jetfuel too!

I explained how it works in GSX, that doesn't necessarily mean it's like in real life. In GSX, the only things that controls which truck is used are:

- the airplane fuel capacity vs the tanker capacity.

- the height of the fueling point, to decide between a tanker with a raising platform or not.

Would it be possible to include in the refueling menu the coice which
fuel truck type the user wishes ?
