Title: Beta loaded version, causes GSX Menu to state current version outdated
Post by: c912039 on May 08, 2025, 04:59:04 am
Ive loaded and configured the beta version of GSX in MSFS2024 Su2 beta, and now GSX menu shows a warning that the beta version of GSX is outdated.

Whilst this might be technically true (v3.4.8 beta is NOT the same as current main release v3.4.7), nonetheless this warning might be confusing.

Would it be possible to change the message, so that it DOESNT warn that the current beta version is outdated, but rather, the current version is a BETA.
Also, if a beta is installed, and an even newer beta is released, would it be possible to THEN warn that the current beta has an update?

Right now the warning comes out whenever the version if different than the released one and this was reasonable before we had a Beta channel.

It was also useful because it could make you aware of possible problem with network replication, where even without accounting for the Beta, you could end up in a situation where the latest version is wrongly reported by your local cloudflare node as a lower version of the one you installed, so it made sense to flag any difference as a problem.

Yes, now with a beta channel, the message might be improved, and report you are in a Beta version rather than a generic different (=outdated) version.
