Hello,
since your sound device support update in 2023 I have no sounds any more in my P3Dv5.4 GSX version, no matter what sound device is selected. Also, In the GSX settings I have the choice between devices with the prefix "openAL" sound device and "generic" sound device. It seems I only can select "openAL". Everything worked fine until your 2023 update, all drivers are installed, and every single following GSX update hasn't changed this, so what is causing this please, as obviously I am not the only one encountering this problem.

Are you using a non-Western version of Windows perhaps ?

Negative! Germany, normal western version. Gygabite Mainboard, and NVIDIA Graphics device, Win10. I 've been running this system since 12 years and never had any sound problems! So, can you give me some ideas where to look or what to edit to make the sound in GSX work again?
Any infos about GSX hardware support either?

GSX doesn't try to interface with the audio hardware. It uses OpenAL so, whether it will work or not, depends entirely if your audio card drivers supports OpenaAL. That, assuming you selected the correct card in the GSX audio settings.

I have attached two screenshots. in the GSX settings, everytime I try to change the sound device from open AL to the generic one, it switches back to open AL, once I re-enter the settings.
The open AL devices are only shown there in the sound menu since your 2023 update, and until this point I used the default generic sound device and everything worked fine with the sound. So, do I need specials drivers or support for my sound hardware to get it to work with open AL? I have a NVIDIA onboard sound device (high definition audio).
I still have no GSX sound at all.
